My son just left for Boot on monday...............it has really been tough for me....i am so proud of him, but i miss him sooooooooooooooo much.........it is all too quiet (and clean !!) without him.............and we are so very close.....i am dreading going grocery shopping this week - that psobably sounds silly.....but MOST of what i bought was to feed HIM ....LOL.........

i told one of his buddies at the going away party to PLEASE stop by every once in a while and DEMAND that i bake brownies or cookies or something........

does it get any "easier" ?

LRNavyMom - it was the longest 8 weeks in my life!!  The only other time I didn't speak to my son every day was when he went to Germany and he actually called me twice when he was over there for 10 days.  Hang in there and go to the graduation, it is a great experience.  I cried the minute the ceremony started.  Even though I talk, text or skype with him now I still light my candle.  My heart aches that he is not home with me but he is doing so great in the Navy and is so happy, so it makes me happy.  Good Luck :)

What a wonderful idea. I plan on getting many blue candles this week and sharing them with family and friends. My son is only 4 wks into bootcamp and I think of him 24/7.
