Fort Worth Parade of Lights

There is a parade of lights every year in downtown Fort Worth Texas. It is the friday after Thanksgiving. I have been attending this parade every year and hold a "hard to get" spot. People have been put on a 4 year waiting list to be in this parade. There are over 200,000 people who line the streets to watch. I am entered under a riding club and we usually have 5-10 horse and riders that attend with us. This year we only have about 4 horse and riders and 2 carriages. I was wondering if any of the local N4M's would like to come and go to the parade with us? If you have a horse you are more than welcome to ride along with us. And if you dont well you are more than welcome to walk along side. Each horse and rider has to have 100 lights on. Each walker has to have 50 lights on. You can get the battery powered lights at hobby lobby for 1.99 a package. I think next year I am going to sign up a float, but it got to close to the time this year and we could not make it in time. Just let me know. The parade starts at sundown but I think you have to be ready to line up at 5 PM. Even if you decide not to ride or walk I would love to see all our Texas moms show up for the parade with some kind of Navy mom shirt on. You know we all own 1 (or 20)! Make sure you let me know if your going to be in the crowd... I WILL FIND YOU! LOL

NEW: If I can get enough moms to go I will take two draft horses and pull a hay wagon for everyone to sit on.
NEW NEW: Okay so I have the hay wagon now and no one has to walk!!!! WOO HOO

Everything is still good to go...it says the rain should die off around 1:30 today.

Hello! My choir will be in the parade. Look for angles in front of a big Christmas Carol book on a float!

Okay its getting close and I sent out my home number for everyone to call me. If you did not get that number please let me know and I will resend. I think a few are meeting here at my house and following me out there and the rest are just going to meet us at the staging area for the equestrian area. here is the link for that map again:

I dont believe there is a charge... you just tell them you are with the K3 riding club and you will have to walk down to the eques area... I will also send my cell number to everyone going so we can meet up... I am taking the float down there early that day to get it decorated so as early as you want to go would be great. I could use the help decorating LOL

So, looking at the map, we meet at the equestrian area -- not the volunteer area, right? Is parking free at the Cash America Parking Garage? What is the fee? And what time do we have to be at the staging area by? Sometime specific before 4:30? Thanks for the information.

Awwwwwww Radar you make me cry... Well ladies its getting closer. I need to get all the metting info out so make sure if you are going you send me a friends request and I will PM you all the info.... This is going to be so much fun!
