Event Description

There is a parade of lights every year in downtown Fort Worth Texas. It is the friday after Thanksgiving. I have been attending this parade every year and hold a "hard to get" spot. People have been put on a 4 year waiting list to be in this parade. There are over 200,000 people who line the streets to watch. I am entered under a riding club and we usually have 5-10 horse and riders that attend with us. This year we only have about 4 horse and riders and 2 carriages. I was wondering if any of the local N4M's would like to come and go to the parade with us? If you have a horse you are more than welcome to ride along with us. And if you dont well you are more than welcome to walk along side. Each horse and rider has to have 100 lights on. Each walker has to have 50 lights on. You can get the battery powered lights at hobby lobby for 1.99 a package. I think next year I am going to sign up a float, but it got to close to the time this year and we could not make it in time. Just let me know. The parade starts at sundown but I think you have to be ready to line up at 5 PM. Even if you decide not to ride or walk I would love to see all our Texas moms show up for the parade with some kind of Navy mom shirt on. You know we all own 1 (or 20)! Make sure you let me know if your going to be in the crowd... I WILL FIND YOU! LOL

Oh C,
I will be there in spirit, and wish I could be there. I am so proud of you and all the work you have put into this parade. Like everything you do, it will be AWESOME!

I might attend since there is a wagon. I have a broken toe, so I don't want to walk. It depends on family activities I am unaware of at the moment, being Thanksgiving weekend.

I am a new Navy Mom but I would love to join you at the parade of lights. I own a couple of Navy Mom shirts, not 20 yet, but some a couple. Thanks for the invite.

Oh, Princess, would you and C come down for a week-end to help me decide who I could bring? I have to get their coggins quick. I have to allow at least 12 -15 days to process the coggins.Fixed my car to get to my new job, but I have to get the truck fixed to haul.

I told J on Friday, I was thinking of fixing up the truck to haul. We have been debated if we should just shoot it and get a new one, or fix it.
Today, I went to do my drug test/background check for my job, and a noise under the hood? so I went to my place I take it, and they said I had to take it to Nacogdoches to the dealership because I need a new ABS motor, fluid relay thingy and I also need a new water pump on my van. When it rains..... PS I have the draft trick horses videos (5) from Brazil Jorge took. How can I send them to you? DO you read your yahoo? Haras-bandeirantes. Half Britons, half something else.. can't remember.

Dear C-T, I keep seeing this parade on the list of events and it just makes me homesick because I'm 5th generation Ft. Worth, but followed my dear husband to his new Indianapoolis job this past June! I'm 48, so this is no small move for me!!! I've been to that parade and the stock show parade many times (my momma used to ride in the stock show, too). Please know that there's one Texan yearning terribly to be there with ya'! Hugs, Kaye S.
