Fort Worth Parade of Lights

There is a parade of lights every year in downtown Fort Worth Texas. It is the friday after Thanksgiving. I have been attending this parade every year and hold a "hard to get" spot. People have been put on a 4 year waiting list to be in this parade. There are over 200,000 people who line the streets to watch. I am entered under a riding club and we usually have 5-10 horse and riders that attend with us. This year we only have about 4 horse and riders and 2 carriages. I was wondering if any of the local N4M's would like to come and go to the parade with us? If you have a horse you are more than welcome to ride along with us. And if you dont well you are more than welcome to walk along side. Each horse and rider has to have 100 lights on. Each walker has to have 50 lights on. You can get the battery powered lights at hobby lobby for 1.99 a package. I think next year I am going to sign up a float, but it got to close to the time this year and we could not make it in time. Just let me know. The parade starts at sundown but I think you have to be ready to line up at 5 PM. Even if you decide not to ride or walk I would love to see all our Texas moms show up for the parade with some kind of Navy mom shirt on. You know we all own 1 (or 20)! Make sure you let me know if your going to be in the crowd... I WILL FIND YOU! LOL

NEW: If I can get enough moms to go I will take two draft horses and pull a hay wagon for everyone to sit on.

C & T, so sorry to miss this. We are having company from out of state that whole week so we can't make it. What a great event! Maybe next time.

We (my husband and I) will be there. Thank you C from T for putting this together. I have always wanted to get together again with other Navy moms', like when we did the sweat bands. Great idea, thank you, thank you.

Just can't make it:( . . . What with now working in 'retail' and this being the first year I can really go 'all out' at Thanksgiving in over 10 years (wrestlers trying to make weight and huge dinners do NOT mix well - LOL!) there is just no way . . .

I'm fairly sure I can't attend, (job, uncertainty with seeing Patrick at Thanksgiving or Christmas) though you showed me your lights and teased me, you knew I wanted to! I'm dying to get back in the saddle again!!!
If T;'s mom needs a horse and you could take one or two that have been sent to a trainer and I've been riding on the trails, she can have one if you could make sure it would be "parade Ready". Just because they don't spook on trail rides, doesn't mean they won't at night with strange boogie men and monsters that are going to eat them.. LOL.

Ok I was the one that called you earlier.I'm terrible about remembering names.I guess because I work at a elementary school and have to remember 610 names every day.So by the time I leave I don't want to remember any more names.I forgot your first name when I called you.I know you can't give it out here but if you see lonestar machine on your caller ID that is me.I would love to be part of the parade.I don't have a horse used to,but I do want to walk with the group.I will IM you my number.

MY GOSH that sounds so cool !! You have to show pictures of that darlin - LOL 50 lights per person ? Geez N4M ought to all be Blue lights :)
