Navy For Moms

I found this website that gives a little detail about what our children are going through each week. I thought it might be of some help to some of the newer moms, and those of us just wondering. We should all be so proud of our children, because not everyone would do what they are doing. God Bless them all.

They are very busy! I went through basic, granted 27 years ago! They are constantly on the move. They have people yelling at them and teaching them. If they just remember that is all a mind game they should be fine. It's all to see what they can take. They take them down to nothing and reteach them everything. They have alot to learn and a liitle time to learn it in. They learn the history of the Navy, how to dress, stand, fold their clothes, march. They learn firefighting, the gas chamber, and general quarters. The last week when the do general quarters they're up for 36 hours.

that is exactly what I tell my sailors ! mind games to build you back up ! it is 6-9 weeks of the most difficult things that they will ever LOVE! they learn to be a team and that is what basic training is teamwork ! My one son told that the first thing there they were ask was who wants to be an individual? those that raised their hands were told you do not want to do that ! this is TEAM no individuals here. Team work ! that is what they must learn

Thank you for sharing... I'm sure a lot of moms here can use that info.. I wish when my son was in BC I had that information.
