That's great. My son wants to go to Japan really bad. Is he on a ship there or is it like a Naval office?

If it's CTN, that's what my son is doing. His PIR was 5/2 and he's in Pensacola waiting for the date to start his school.

I don't know the if it's the same thing, but he did say he will go to Pensacola for training. Probably is the same. Does he like it? Do you know where he will go after?

My son graduated BC on 4/18 and is in Pensacola for the same thing. A school is filled so he is there waiting for the next class to start. Told me he could be there anywhere from 6mo to 2yrs. Hoping he misunderstood. He was on DEP and was to go straight from BC to A school. My son will still be waiting most likely when yours arrives. The good news is we heard from him a lot during BC because he needed more and more info for his background. Good luck.

My son graduates on 9/13. He is supposed to go to A school on that following Tuesday the 17th. Hopefully your son is in that class, if not earlier. He must be getting tired of waiting . I'm sure they keep him busy, but I'm sure it would be nice to start the career training

Your son will be training at The Center for Information Dominance (CID) Corry Station which is located in Pensacola, FL. He will be there 3 to 4 months dependent on when the class actually starts.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering how long the training would be. He said he was leaving on 5/17, but now, I wonder if he's going to Pensacola and will wait for a class also. Seems like I remember the recruiter telling him the earlies he could go to BC was 4/14 because there wouldn't be any classes available until June. I could be mistaken. In any case, I guess he's leaving for Pensacola on Tue 6/17

My son is there now for CTR. He graduated on 3-14 and started the school on on 5-21. He was told that he could be waiting for his school for 2-4 months but it took 5 weeks to get classed up. The school is 16 weeks then it could be another 9 of C school after. His class is at night...yup.. night 6pm-1am. They run day and night classes. My son wanted to be on a ship for his first duty however the Navy had been changing alot of things and now no longer have CT on ships. (at least that's what he just told me) so now it's either Air Crew or stationed at a base.

I guess that's bad for them if they want to be on a ship, but good for us because we can go visit more often.(smile)

My fiance just graduated 05/16 and is flying to Pensacola tomorrow for A school. He's CTR and starts class 05/27. Originally, he was told he would be on hold in GL for 2 weeks after PIR, but luckily he can go to FL sooner now. Class is 108 days and concludes 09/09. I can't wait, because our tentative wedding date is set in October.
