Navy For Moms

I just made reservations to stay at the Navy Lodge. Anyone else staying there? I understand it's very convenient. Any other information would be helpful.

But 15-20 minute walk is good for you..lol...especially if you don't want to fool with traffic. I would much rather walk than deal with crazy traffic!

That is my thoughts. I hate dealing with parking. Is the "Metra" train station close to the lodge?

Just pray it dosen't rain!!! LOL

No the metra is next to the RTC it is actually the next right turn after the RTC gates not far either. Shell is right parking isn't a real issue it is all extemely oraganized and orchestrated....get there early though the line can be long to get on the base.

We parked at the train station and walked to the gate....just because we only had one pass to park and I gave it to my daughter who had my two little grandchildren with her..it was a downpour rain and I didn't want them to have to walk too far with the little ones. I had an umbrella and my fiance and my Father both walked over to the gate, but they wouldn't let us in until 6:30am (we were a bit early). They let us stand in a little station cause of the rain. It wasn't a bad walk actually. I later found out that another N4M had four carloads of people and they were all allowed in on her one parking pass!! No questions asked. They had 17 people with them. The parking inside the base is organized and the lot was pretty large. But the walk wasn't bad either.

Just thought I would comment on what my son said about our accomodations --- He was glad that we booked rooms off base because he said he wanted to be as far as possible from the base while on liberty...and while we didn't spend alot of time at the hotel in Gurnee, he did enjoy going to our rooms in Gurnee and just relaxing for a bit on a bed and taking a nice hot shower in a place where he didn't feel "connected" to the base. I have heard the Navy lodge is a very nice place to stay and is on base, but if you don't mind driving a bit, they really like getting "away" for awhile.

Does anyone know if the lodge has wireless internet?
