This is the best snowball ever! I’ve been so curious…how did you find out about our community? Some moms have told me about the http://www.nstc.navy.mil/rtcgl/family/index.html site… Is that were you found us... or was it through another source? Thank you!

UPDATE 4/20/2008: Hi Everyone! I brought this forward because I really want to know! :) How did you find out about us?!

My sailor actually told me to join - so glad she did - I'm loving it

I found out about this site thru a 'Naval Academy ' website. Lots of us have come over to this site. I love it. Much more casual atmosphere. The other site is very "informative" , but on this site you can show emotions, and feelings and make life long friendships.

I heard about this site from another member. I have to say that I am VERY impressed by what I've read so far. I can't wait to read more.

I found the Navy For Moms website the day we dropped our son off at MEPS to leave for boot camp. There is a bill board on a local state route by our house and they had changed the bill board over that day from a Penn Station ad to the Navy For Moms ad. I saw the sailor on the sign and caught the website as I was driving by. How ironic:) It is a great website with a wealth of information and support. Thanks to all!

I was sitting looking at my e-mail. Crying, because I was alone, and everyone was in bed sleeping. When down in the corner of my screen was a flashing ad, saying check this out "Navy for Moms". I thought about it for a min, and remembered when I was going through my dad's death, I found a site about grieving this way. It was a sign, I hope it was my dad guiding me to have somewhere and someone that was feeling the same way I was to talk to. A place to put my thoughts down without sounding silly. It was late and I should have been in bed, but I Thank GOD and Dad for guiding me here!

Isn't it wonderful how God, and moms and dads, work in our lives. Your sailor is lucky to have you. You were in touch with your feelings enough to listen to your heart. Keep listening and chatting with other moms, who are in the same boat as you. We all love our sons and daughters and coming here helps us through the days. I guess it gets easier. I suppose it has for me - it has only been 3+ weeks, and I actually haven't cried in a week. I guess it helps that I have a PIR date and I'm planning that trip now. Now it's a countdown. Only 34 days until I see my son again. Isn't it wonderful to be in touch with so many other people who desperately love their children? I find this site gives me such peace.

We're glad to have you here, and remember- your not the only one feeling like that. When my jeff was in Iraq, tears would appear out of nowhere, and in some of the strangest places. I really felt like I was losing it, until I found N4Moms, and learned that alot of other moms were going thru the same feelings!! It took a weight off my shoulders, knowing I wasn't alone going thru those feelings. Good luck!

It's funny, my son was in the Navy for 4 years and now my daughter has been in for 2 years and I just found out about this website a few months ago on a tv commercial. When I logged on to see what it was all about I was ecstatic. Being my o nly daughter and having her all the way over in Japan with no way to see her for at least a year this site has helped me get thru the sadness. Thank you so much! I just wish I had knnown about it sooner. I tell everyone about it (and that's a lot of people because I have Navy stickers all over my SUV, bragging about my daughter being a sailor and a fire fighter). I've made so many new friends and it's so nice to talk to people who really understand. I think my family is tired of hearing about it...lol. Any way THANK YOU!

One quick question....how is this site supported? Does the Navy pay for it?

Reply to This

Yes, this site is funded by the Navy and is managed by Campbell-Ewald, the Navy's advertising agency of record.
