Navy Moms!
I am so excited. :)
This is the best snowball ever! I’ve been so curious…how did you find out about our community? Some moms have told me about the http://www.nstc.navy.mil/rtcgl/family/index.html site… Is that were you found us... or was it through another source? Thank you!
UPDATE 4/20/2008: Hi Everyone! I brought this forward because I really want to know! :) How did you find out about us?!
Debbie,
Welcome to our wonderful N4M website. This place is a blessing for anyone with a loved one in the Navy. It will answer many questions you have and there are many very knowledgable women here who will be happy to help you. Welcome!
I found Navy For Moms from a discussion on another site. My son is Jared K he is MMT1 on the USS Alabama-731. He just finished his shore duty at Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach, FL earlier this year where he worked at Kennedy Space Center. His shore duty was cut about 3 months early so he could take the officers exam, which he did pass. Jared is married to a girl (Jamie) from Everette, WA and they have given me two wonderful grandsons, Jace (5) and Jadon (3) both who are my pride and joy.
I have set my yahoo account to send me an alert with anything regarding US Navy or USS The Sullivans. So the Navy Moms info was on an e-mail sent to me a few days ago. Also, just tonight there was an advertisement for Navy Moms on the local Denver TV station.
I found Navy for Moms just after my son left for bootcamp end of July, 08. I was looking through the Great Lakes site and clicked on "Navy For Moms". What a blessing, it got me through bootcamp, and showed me how moms networking through this site were truly a family and a team united!! While at GL graduation, I asked every mom I met if they were part of N4M, and when the answer was no, I told them every awesome thing about the site, and what it had done for me personally. I recruited quite a few moms, I wish I had a way to tell more moms.
Just last night I saw a Navy for Moms commercial on TV, I couldn't believe it, That was awesome guys!!!!
Tammy,
You are certainly right about this site! It wasn't around when my son was in BC, what it a relief it would have been for me if it had been. I found it when he was at his A school in CT and have been here ever since. I am thrilled with this site and the wonderful women I have met here and the dad's too! ;0) I tell everyone I know about the site, and asked the computer tech at the school where I work to allow it on our system so that I can access it during the day on my plan periods.
my 11 yr old son saw the commercial and told me- i wish i'd had this when my daughter was in boot- it would have been great to really talk with someone going through the same worries- i'm sooo glad you're here now for these moms and families-
I saw the ad you have been running on TV lately and I love this. I wish this had been around years ago when I was a new Navy wife and had no idea what I was getting into.
Thanks
I found out about this site because of a commercial on TV in Colorado Springs. I think that is amazing because there's like NO Navy here. It's all Army and Air Force.
I've also been to www.NMOL.com ....Navy moms online.
I found out about navymoms.com on tv on a commercial. I have been looking for a website like this since my son Ruben joined the Navy, last year. I am so thankful to the person who started this website. Thank you again.
I found out about the website through a tv commercial. Ever since my son joined a year ago I listen to everything regarding the Navy that comes across the tv, computer or otherwise. I heard it one night and waited for it to show again to get the address correct. I love my son very much and I miss him greatly, he is the one that can make me smile when nothing else works, and bless his heart he calls and texts me when he can, but I still wonder what he is doing from day to day. I am proud of him and amazed by how much he has grown, but still wish I could spend my time with him in San Diego and not stuck here in Texas. Thank you for this website it is exactly what I have been searching for!!!!
