Jennifer Cody's Mom in Florida

How many Moms (or Dads or other significant loved ones) Are stalking the Mailman?

Getting desperate I think so here it goes...

Really thought today would be the day.. Typical me was home all day stalking the mail mans arrival. Usually mail is here around 11:30 AM Not today must have gone our to mailbox 20 times and flag was still up. (I mail Cody a couple letters a day). Well at 4:00PM daughter called from school had missed her bus so I went to go get her. As I pulled out of the driveway I could see the poor mailman about 10 houses down coming this way.. OK I'll wait.... Minutes felt like forever figured this was all a sign the letter was here and forces of the universe where just taunting me. While that minute of waiting seemed like forever and the mailman had not moved from where I first spotted her I figured oh!! This is just taken tooooo long. So I drove up to the Mailman and said please please can I get my mail... OH NO! She could not do that she had to deliver it to the Mailbox and mailbox only... I had to go get my daughter Thought it would be wrong to make her camp out in front of the school because of her brothers letter. So off I had to drive like a maniac to the school to get my daughter and return home to get that letter I knew was waiting for me... I mean it had to be there Mail man was late, Wouldnt give me mail, Daughter missed bus... It just had to all be a taunting sign.. So I flew in to the drive way I dont even think the car was in park before I threw open the door.. Ran to the mail box grabbed the mail through all the junk to the side... Got to the bottom and STILL NO LETTER. so I guess its back to stalking the mail man for me. LOL
Any one as Desperate as I seem to be irrastinally going to hear from their recruit?

Jennifer... LOl you are so funny. Yes, that first wave of letters you feel you are stalking them. I have the same postman here at home as I do at work. After the first episode of me almost tackling him, he now sneaks into our job and sneaks out unseen! They know when there is mail and they will sneak in and out unoticed. I'm sure it's not on purpose! I mean, what's a few harmless women throwing themselves at the postman for a piece of paper that was scribbled on from a kid away from home?? The real story? They are scared to death of us MOMS. I'm thinking that they think we are going to sabatoge their mail route if they don't have mail for us! I swear I've been to our mailbox today alot looking for aarons grad pack. And with the holiday. OMG And hey, they better hurray especially if they forget to pick up the mail at it doesn't run at your house anyway until AFTER the post office is closed! They aren't dummies.. they are prettttyyyy smart at this game by now.. LOL

Just a humorous twist on a very serious lack of mail situation..

LOL I love it!!! And it's sooooooo true. God help the poor telemarketer that calls, when I think it's a day when Jeff would get to call from Iraq. Even my girls have enough sense not to call on those days.. :o) !!
As for the postman/ they get to be our best friends, don't they. The gal in the post office go to know Jeffs name/ and would always ask how he was doing/ and what goodies was I sending him in the box.

Kris... I go no where without the phone all ready. I even sleep with the phone on my chest. Bathroom trips, laundry room, On my leg in the car.... I have it set to ring load and vibrate. Wont go to the movies. My hubby who is an over the road truck driver says he has never found it so easy to get in touch with me since Cody left. Calls never go unanswerd. But I do not look like a stlaking raving dillusional lunatic in my PJS answering the phone.... The mail... I could just see myself today... Out in my PJs 20 times today checking that mailbox Hair not brushed, PJs on, I would walk back in the house and as soon as I shut the door... COULD OF SWORN... I heard the mail man.... So back Out I would go. I can see it now I get the winners notification for the publishers sweeps stake and would throw it aside becuase it didnt come from my Boy... (I better check and make sure there arnt unpaid bills laying around). In all serioseness Its been almost 3 Whole weeks ... I just want the letters to start. And to have info on Div. 381. Mabie then my neighbors wont close the blinds and run back into their house when the deranged pj lady with frizzy hair runs out of the house 20 times a day to the mailman and the mailman wont be afraid to stop at the house... Shes going to start just rolling by the mailbox and hope she gets it in If I keep this up.
Wonder if anyone else is getting this carzy about not getting any news?

Hey there. You all are so hilarious. I can just picture it in my head about stalking the mailman (lady) for letters! I have a p.o. box, so I have to drive down to the post office to even see if I received a letter. Which takes about 15 mins, so I drive like a maniac! Everyone better get off the roads. lol.
To my suprise though, I was out at my grandparents camping out and my mom stopped by and dropped off a letter...that time I didn't even expect it...but it was a letter from my boyfriend...and ONLY 10 DAYS AFTER HE LEFT. I'm thinking he was writing when he wasn't supposed to...be glad your sons/bf's/etc...are obeying the rules, would hate to see anyone get in trouble, especially my boyfriend!! Good luck with everyone. I'm sure letters will come soon. Just pretend you aren't looking to get a letter and you'll get one, like what happened with me! ;)

Just bringing those boot camp memories back for all of us Jennifer!!! You probably have already thought of this but since Monday was a holiday, your mail will probably be a day or two behind this week. Poor mailman...shall we warn him?!!! Perhaps if you just hang a Navy Mom sign by your mailbox, he will completely understand!!

OMG You all cracked me up! My son just graduated on 8/29 and I still find myself grabbing my notebook to write him. Even though he can call now. Thanks for the laugh and memories of Boot Camp!

LOL
I love reading all about us crazy moms craving just plain old mail!

I went up to the mailbox today, just hoping just out of ordinary, the mail might be on time this week even tho we had a holiday on Monday.
Sigh.............................nope, not yet.......................tomorrow it will be there, won't it???? Better be...........
Or else that mailman will have to answer on why not! LOL

One day, last week, I caught the mailman at the mailbox and I told him that he was my favorite person right now. He looked at me kind of funny. Just a kid in his 30's, LOL
Then I told him about my son being at boot camp, waiting for precious letters from him, and then he finally laughed and said "thanks."

So the UPS is our most favorite thing right now in life..................................

I know exactly how you feel. My son is in boot camp right now. I havent recieved a letter from him yet either. I got "the box" and I got the letter from the Navy with his address and a few lines on the bottom from him. I can hardly wait for the actual first letter. It's killing me. I thought I would get one today, but think the Holiday made it a day later. I am praying that there is a letter in tomorrow's mail. Please, all of you out there, pray for me too. LOL I miss him so much. He is my first to leave the nest and only freshly 18 for 6 months. I want him back!! LOL Your not alone, as I am sure there is many out there just like you and me. Hang in there. I am sure they will come in good time.

Hi Lisa ... I understand where you are coming from. My son has been gone just 2 weeks and I really had no idea how quiet the house would be without him (which is odd since he was never here and when he was home he was on the computer with his headset on ... gee, I miss seeing the back of his head!!). He has gone away for several weeks with the sea cadets for the last 4 summers and it never seemed like this. I guess it's because I know that this is it ... he's gone for the long haul. It is especially hard for me because I am now officially an "empty nester". He is the youngest of 3 and my only boy... I really hated receiving "the box" and still haven't received the official letter ... heck, I haven't even washed his dirty laundry yet .. can't quite bring myself to do it .. although I do look into his room about 40 times a day.... hang in there, I'm sure the letter will come soon ...
