Jennifer Cody's Mom in Florida

How many Moms (or Dads or other significant loved ones) Are stalking the Mailman?

Getting desperate I think so here it goes...

Really thought today would be the day.. Typical me was home all day stalking the mail mans arrival. Usually mail is here around 11:30 AM Not today must have gone our to mailbox 20 times and flag was still up. (I mail Cody a couple letters a day). Well at 4:00PM daughter called from school had missed her bus so I went to go get her. As I pulled out of the driveway I could see the poor mailman about 10 houses down coming this way.. OK I'll wait.... Minutes felt like forever figured this was all a sign the letter was here and forces of the universe where just taunting me. While that minute of waiting seemed like forever and the mailman had not moved from where I first spotted her I figured oh!! This is just taken tooooo long. So I drove up to the Mailman and said please please can I get my mail... OH NO! She could not do that she had to deliver it to the Mailbox and mailbox only... I had to go get my daughter Thought it would be wrong to make her camp out in front of the school because of her brothers letter. So off I had to drive like a maniac to the school to get my daughter and return home to get that letter I knew was waiting for me... I mean it had to be there Mail man was late, Wouldnt give me mail, Daughter missed bus... It just had to all be a taunting sign.. So I flew in to the drive way I dont even think the car was in park before I threw open the door.. Ran to the mail box grabbed the mail through all the junk to the side... Got to the bottom and STILL NO LETTER. so I guess its back to stalking the mail man for me. LOL
Any one as Desperate as I seem to be irrastinally going to hear from their recruit?

I have stalked the mailman also.....he knew why and one day he came up on the porch thinking he had the long awaited envelope for me...he was beaming so proudly. I believe it was probably relief...thinking if he didn't produce something I may sic my doberman on him. Well it was not a letter from my son, but a letter from his girlfriend who is at Army Boot camp. I let him know that although I appreciated the letter it was not the one I wanted and he was NOT off the hook yet. Since then I have received a couple of letters that the mailman now sneaks into my mailbox......I will so need to reward him for the acceptable delivery of letters from my only baby boy!!!!

I guess I am spoiled by my son.
I hate to brag but I got a letter today!!! It was 8 pages long! The mail even came early today!

My son has written me letters every single week since he has been to boot camp. And he has been there since July 17th too. He got pushed back 2 weeks due to academic reasons. So he has had lots of opportunities to write me.

So I have a great son for writing me!!! Tho I write him every single day too!
I truly appreciate hearing what he has to say about boot camp and how much he appreciates all I have done for him in his life, LOL That does make my day for sure!!!

Hope you all get a letter tomorrow due to the holiday tho. He did say that they got the day off on Labor Day so..................you all should get a letter...........................

Well my friends, I got a letter today - I told you my son calls me when he comes home today when I answered he was hysterical....I could see him jumping up and down screaming "we got something from great lakes!!!" I tearful said "OPEN IT" lol
yes it was from her, she is in medical for a pulled muscle and she saw the doctor yesterday- so we are hoping she got released as she has been there 3 weeks now and she has not started bootcamp! She sounded great and she said her and the other girls in medical say they are "broken" like they are toys. They are waiting on parts or just healing the only thing she has to read "thank GOD!" is her Bible. So she is still upbeat about joining the Navy! So, I hope you get your little gleam of joy tomorrow! If not we are sending a mom up there to whip them in shape to get this postal thing straightened out! Good luck can't wait to read this tomorrow night!

Sorry to hear about your daughter ... I hope they give her a break since she's already been there for 3 weeks. Thank God that she has her bible ... that's probably the reason that she's still upbeat. I wish her all the best...

So glad for you to have heard from her -- so sad that she is in medical. Does that mean boot camp still has to go the entire time yet??? That really isn't right...it isn't like she isn't there...that should count. God Bless You All and so glad she has her Bible to read. Maybe that is giving her some comfort.

I used to scold my dogs for barking when the mailman arrived, Now I give them treats for letting me know! I totaly understand Stalking the mailman, I told one of mine when I was waiting for him that My son is in BC and I was anxiously awaiting a letter, he said he understood and now if he sees the Navy seal he puts it at the top!

I got it! The letter came yesterday! The great part is that she likes it! She likes her job (Head Laundry P.O.) and she is a division leader. I have no idea what that is, but if it makes her happy, it's ok with me! She says she has made a couple of friends. All in all, she sounds like she is really happy and feels like she made a great decision, joining the Navy. I do have one concern. The address that I have been writing to is not the same as her return address. She didn't mention getting any mail from me, but nothing has been returned so far. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey back, Mo,
Thanks. I love those letters.
No, my son didn't say anything about mono going around. That sounds bad tho. I can imagine in a place like they are in it could go rampage (sp?). Mono also takes awhile to recover from too! I sure hope my son graduates before getting that! He hasn't had that yet either. I will ask him in my letter to him today tho!

Sue, use the Div. and Ship # she is in along with the proper street address from that Form letter that was sent. That is the correct address.

haven't heard anything about mono, but there has been alot of bronchitis and pnuemonia with the PIR 9/19 group-my sons div 944 has especially been dealing with bronchitis--i think the immunizations cause some of it with the exposure to all those viruses and i think some recruits bring in the "bugs"..

Stalking the Mail Man Paid off today...... I got my first letter 3 weeks to the day he got there. Its Post marked 9/2. He asked if I saved his stuff from dad.. (Was suppose to get his room packed before he left or Dad was going to throw it out) Yes I did. Said boot camp wasnt what he thought... (Says Im probably saying no daaaa!) He says not doing PT (????) and so he didnt pass PT Test :(. (Must have been running thats where he was lacking could do Push ups and Situps) He says he has made some freinds even though they where told they werent suppose to (Werent suppose too?) He has had Securite watch and doesnt like it but its only 2 hours a night. Says hes gotten better at waking up now he is usually up before he is suppose to be... Food is Good but not like Homes cooking. He says RDC are ok try to make it a little fun (Guess he got a good one) but most of the time its just business. He says most of BC is just Military History and practicing for graduation wants more PT. They are going to pull 4 teeth (AWWWW!) Will write more soon pleaseeee write back ASAP. OH I Am so Happy, so sad, Worried about teeth and PT ohhhhh so many emotions!!! But happy I got my letter.

I got 4 letters today!! Woo hoo.. Don't worry about the teeth, they give the kids good pain medication. Aaron's letters was interesting to say the least.... He was on bed rest for 3 days, and light duty in his last letter. He was glad to get off duty so He could get caught up on "stuff" he said.. lol stuff.. Mom's we've lost our edge of finding out information.... This week in letters he sounded so much different so happy to be there, and have had a lot of time to do soul searching... He's enjoying it and can't wait till graduation.. NO GRAD PACK>>>
