Any AM moms out there?

My son is going into AM and will be in Pensacola. He is grad and go on the 12th. He said he is the only one in his entire ship that is going into this rate and I have not seen too many on this site. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there?

My brother is graduating on Sept 12th as well from div 336 ship 14. He is also going to A school in pensacola. He is not a grad and go but is suppose to ship out on the 15th

AM is Aviation Mechanics, as far as my son knows he is the only one going to A school for this rate, at least in his ship. That is great Hollie, at least you will get to spend a little time with your brother. We will get about 2 hours after PIR and then head to the airport unless things change last minute.

My daughter Graduates Oct 3rd and then goes to A school for AD. She was suppose to go to AM but AD is great for her too. At least she will still get to work on engines, and fuel injection systems and start the engines among many other duties as an AD. She is either going to Pensacola or Virginia beach far as we know.

My son Cody PIR's 10/10 He is AM/S Aviation Mechanic Structural all will be coming to Pensacola Fl for A school. I am in Orlando Fl. My Husband is over the rd Truck dr. and usually go Fl to TX abot 1 a week so he is through Pensecola often. I am finding very few Am or AM/S as well.

My son is also in aviation school, but told me he may have to wait 3-5 months since there is a waiting list. Hopefully the list goes quickly!!

My son has been in the Navy for 2 years now.hes a AME he started out at as a AM.He was also a Grad and go.He had just a few hours after graduation.He loves his rank which he is now also a petty officer 3rd class.he has gotten to meet so many VIPs since he was chosen for AM.He got to meet the blue Angels while in Florida and actually got to go inside of one of their jets.He also went to A school and took some certification courses.He said he wouldn't want to be anywhere else but AME.

My son graduates this Friday, and is off to Pensacola( just like his late dad). His orders changed during the last week of camp, and he is going to Florida shortly. Luckily---we have just bought a home in Southwest FL, so he can visit over the holidays!

My son left for Pensacola on the 1st of this month. He graduated from Great Lakes on the 29th of Aug. I don't know much personally about the base, but would be happy to ask my Son if you have something you need to find out. My Son is going to A school for IT training.
