Christmas break

Hi! I was wondering if any body with loved ones in A-school in great lakes has heard anything about christmas break? Do they set dates, do all the schools shut down? Thanks!

Just returned from PIR and many students on the train said that they announced Christmas break from Dec 19th to Jan 4th. I wouldn't carve that in stone yet, that's just what some of the students were saying.

I had heard Dec 19 through Jan 2. Also, I wondering if they offer buses to both Chicago and Milwaukee as it appears that flights out of Milwaukee are much cheaper. Where do most of you find the cheapest tickets?

My son's holiday dates are Dec 19-Jan 4. I asked him if this was set in stone and he said Yes.. I then asked him to double check and again the answer was yes mom..lol It happened back in July, they were told 1 date and 2 days later they changed it so he had to change his flights. He made his reservations over 2 weeks ago and so far, nothing has changed ... BUT.. who knows, although I dont think it will at this point and this is for GL area.

My son is in Pensacola and he said he was only allowed to choose one holiday, Xmas or New Year....
Not sure if he has that right or not.....I'd love to see him at Xmas, but don't want him to use all his leave...
Would rather see him after school and before his first duty station.....

My son is in A school and he has told me that his time home will be from 12/19 to 1/02, at least 5 to 6 of them are coming together that live in this area.

Our son is in A School in CT. He called tonight and said the stand down dates for there were from the 13 of Dec to the 28th and the 28th of Dec to the 9th of Jan. He asked if we wanted him to come home for Xmas or New Year's, of course Xmas. They are only allowed to take leave over one of those periods. Not for the entire stand down.
