Navy For Moms

Can anyone give me info on OTS - my son is seriously considering going in August and I would like to know what is ahead of him for those 3 months he would be there. (what he will be doing, can I send him mail/goodie packages, how often will I be able to talk to him, can I email him, etc) thanks
Sherry

Linda - thanks for the reply but I just realized I got the initials wrong.. its OCS - Office candidate School - he is not ROTC - he has already graduated college so would go into the Navy as an officer and I hear the 3 months at OCS is very tough

My sons friend from college went thru it and is now stationed in South Carolina (I think) he said it was tough but definitly worth it - - I now they "try" to break yoiu cause they want to be sure you are OFFICER material... but he said it was WORTH IT... where did your boyfriend graduate from? My son graduated last May from AZ STATE WEST.. and is currently working on his masters... his ultimate goal is to be in the FBI and being a commissioned officer in the armed forces is a good stepping stone... how old is your boy friend.. my son is 22

I have a link the one of the schools in Newport. https://otcn.netc.navy.mil/OCS/index.htm (you may have to allow the web site if your pop up blocker is strong)
I don't know anyone who went throught the program, sorry. But we have a few retired Navy people on the board now, maybe Chief Mommy could answer you in more detail.
