Navy For Moms

Has anyone had experience with their son or daughter using the military flights. Successful or not? How does it work?

Well, some of them are cargo flights and you sit on the netting seats which fold down. No helmets, we had earplugs. Even on those there were restrooms and box lunches. Cold, really cold, is what I recall (I rode one from Tehran to Ramstein, Germany, I was 16 at the time). And sometimes they put in banks of seats, which sit backwards to commercial seats (safer that way). But plenty are much like commercial flights, although on ours the flight attends debarked in Anchorage and we were on our own to Japan. I've also been on medical flights, which are like commercial carriers with a lift for gurneys in the back.
