Navy For Moms

I was just up at GL for my Sons PIR 10/10 - I strongly urged all of you to join your Sailor for the church services the Sunday following PIR - it's a very special moment, as well they will receive a very special blessing as they start their careers with the US Navy.
I went to the Roman Catholic Service and truly enjoyed it with our son, the pastor is amazing, I hope you can encourage all your future Sailors to go to weekly services as it is some free time they get away from their superiors, and the Pastor really bring the sermon to their every day trials.

It is wonderful. Where is the church located? PIR for my son 11/21

When you get to the base, it's at the back side of the parking lot, very nice building, they have different chapels for different denominations. My son went to every service on Sunday mornings, as I stated in my initial remarks, the pastor is a trip, very nice down to earth, shares the sports scores with the recruits, and lets them relax a little, you can always go on my page and view the little videos I made, or at the videos "always ready" and I think the other was "church service 10/10".
How is your son doing? did you get the second real phone call yet? mine told me that all my letters helped him thru, when I was to busy to really write I send him some of the funny e-mail jokes I received which he told me had the whole division laughing.

My son is also in 011 KEARSARGE and graduates 11/21 (PIR?)

The church is right by the parking lot where you will be picking your sailor up, he should know, hopefully he is already going every weekend, just to have some peace of mind for a little while as no officers are allowed.
Have a wonderful time at PIR - it's an amazing day, I still cry when I watch my son's video :)

It stands for Pass In Review, very nice ceremony, just make sure you get there very early, as you will have to go thru the gates and then stand in line to be checked off the list.

Oh Fanny! Love your daughters outfit. My 5 year old daughter is going to PIR with me. Where did you find it?

Hey, I was just checking www.navygear.com - if you go under children's apparel they have a cheerleading outfit for 6x - they didn't have it for a 3 year old so I ended up with the other -- but on the web as mentioned it's on sale right now, along with a bunch of other stuff. At the base after RIP you can shop with your sailor at the NEX which has other stuff, shirts, PJ, sweatshirts etc.

I too really enjoyed going to the chapel with my son. The service was very nice. Although you really notice how many recruits have the "ricky crud" and are sick! There is a lot of coughing going on. I too would encourage each of you to attend with your sailor!

What great info! Tomorrow's letter will include this info. He's about to start week 3 and I'm sure he could use some devine intervention. Based on your description of the pastor, he'll really enjoy!! Not to mention the sports scores ... we're from south NJ and are huge Phillies fans. If nothing else, he'll appreciate getting news on the Phillies in the world series!
