Navy For Moms

I just got a letter from my son today and there is this one line that makes me chuckle over and over again...I thought it might be fun to share these if anyone else has any. I considered putting it in context for ya'll but thought it wouldn't be as funny. So, in David Letterman style, I will start with my so far funniest line home from my son was:

"I guess not everybody appreciates ninjas."

I starting to compile them already...every time I think I have them all, I get more! No problem though! I will keep them in a seperate doc and then we can work with them later. Already looking into getting them to Letterman.

You might have to end up doing separate volumes.

#1 - A little story EJ shared with me:
"So the other day there was a group of us in the Head all squatting, we started singing 'Bye, bye Miss American Pie.' When one of the RDC's showed up and told us to shut up. I bet he left laughing his a@@ off. Imagine walking into a bathroom full of grown men singing as they s---. Funny." What?!?! All I wanted to know was who started the singing??

#2 - one more for ya:
"We go our dress uniforms last week, they are PIMP!!" Lol, my roomie and I cracked up at that one. :)

My son said that too. He said it was sooooooooo Great to get to sleep. He said he would wake up, look around and realize he was still in Boot Camp, take another vicodin and go back to sleep....LOL

Hey, just saw this and thought I'd share. My daughter loves to write and has a crazy sense of humor (which is why she survived so well in bc.) Anyway, after PIR she sent us her top ten list (more like 50) of what she'd never forget was said...here were a few that can be repeated that we thought were funny...

"You will stand at attention, and you will like it."
"Good morning/afternoon/evening Chief/Petty Officer/Sir." x 80
"Arm circles. Begin."
"It's not supposed to feel good."
"Water cures cancer/AIDS/any affliction of your choice."
Petty Officers arguing about which way was faster to march around a perfect square from one corner to the opposite.
"Did you eat a bowl of stupid for breakfast?" (interchange stupid with dumb, idiot, moron, and of course breakfast with whatever meal had most recently passed)

I've been reading and enjoying! My daughter has been in the Navy for 4 years and all of these 'lines' brought back so many memories.

BTW, regarding the glasses, I read somewhere that they were called BC glasses -- Birth Control Glasses. Be sure to take them their REAL glasses for the PIR! They'll want their cell phone and their glasses/contacts right away. After my daughter's PIR, she wanted restaurant food and for us to find the nearest Victoria's Secret -- she wanted new underwear. Since they were not allowed to take any packages back onto base after liberty, she and her friend WORE their new underwear in -- under their uniforms. 6 new panties/thongs and 4 new bras. It was great fun!
