Looking for Moms from Division 903 Ship 06

Hi,

My son arrived at Boot Camp on Oct 7. Just wondering if anyone is out there with a child in Division 903 Ship 06?? Has anyone heard when graduation is? Have you heard from your child?? Mine has written 2 short letter so far. One extremely short phone call (because he didn't call when he arrived. Any news from those kids on what is happening?? Maybe we can coorespond with our children through each others children (I know it doesn't make sense, but it is 0630 hours here, lol) Thanx for your help!!

Hi Cathi,

My son is Lafe M. He is Div 903 Ship 06. You may want to go on to the group PIR 12/05/2008. That is their graduation date. I did got a phone call yesterday. My son is in great spirits (or he faked it really good). He is in the band and the 900 units have to work a lot harder than other units because they perform in several PIR before their own. Lafe will go to Goosecreek, SC after boot for the Nuke Program. We have already made our flight and hotel arrangements. I posted earlier that I am having a hard time keeping up with what mom goes with which kid. I also belong to AZ Moms since we live in AZ. I found it easier to be in a group than just on a forum. I usually only check forums when I want a specific question answered right away. I will add you as a friend so we can keep in touch.

Hi Edwina,

I am Joshua's Mom, he is also in the band (playing Bass Drum). I have not received the info on the graduation yet, hoping to get it this week so we can make our arrangements. I also have to send the info to his father, who lives in Calif. I also got a call on Sat and Joshua sounds great and he is real excited about the graduation. He told me all about the band practices. What instrument does your son play?? Joshua will be going to Pensicola for his "A" school and he is excited about that too. I am so glad I found this site, wonder if the boys know each other, I would think so because of the band. Hope to hear from you soon. By the way what is the group PIR?? and what is PIR??

PIR is Pass in Review which is graduation. So moms with kids graduating on 12/5/2008 have started a group just for themselves. Actually, they have set up a Meet & Greet on 12/4 so many of the families will be meeting for the first time before the children graduate. Unfortunatley we will be flying in later so we will not get to participate. Try this link because there are over 50 moms on that site with kids graduating at the same time.

I have a hard time figuring out how to get around these sites. I am also on the Ct site. How do I add you as a friend?? Did you hear from your son yet, does he know my Joshua? I will ask Joshua when he call next and I will write the question in a letter. I have already booked my hotel and am in the process of making air reservations. Hope to talk to you again soon!!

cathi, pardon me for butting in, and I can't believe I am giving advice on this site, LOL, but you sound as lost as I was a month ago.
First, if you have his PIR date, make your reservation now. If you wait, you won't be able to stay on base, if that matters, oh you can't smoke on the base AT ALL I guess, so we booked a hotel off base about 6 mi.
around this site. If you go to the top of the page...do that now, I'll wait... LOL. you will see tabs click on those and nose around.
second, if you click on a pictuer next to any post it will take you to that persons personal page, and you can leave a message there also, on the upper left of each personal page is a little box and one of the things says, add as friend, all you do is click it and then hit send.
I spent about two days roaming around and clicking on things to see where I would go.
also at the top of a main page, ( e.g. forums) there is a search box. you could type in the PIR date, or your sons ship and div number and see what pops up that way too.
There is so much else you can do, I am still learning too, LOL good luck
OH go to Great Lakes Navy page, on the top click on Graduation and you can find your sons div number and find the PIR date there as well.

OMG (as the kids say!!) I am slowly figuring out how to use this thingy!! I just found all the replies from my question, what 2 weeks ago!!!! Oh well. Anyway, I did book my hotel, Navy Lodge, and I WILL find a place to smoke!!! I just want to see my baby boy!! I am traveling with my older son & their father is ging to meet us there (not bringing his wife, Joshua will be upset). But at least we will be there. I can't wait. Someone on one of the other half trillion sites I joined, said they wanted to pack today,me toooooo!!!! ANyway, sorry I took so long to reply. whew,finally!!! Thanx again.

If you click on my pic icon it will take you to my page. On the left you will see a place to be invited as a friend. I will then accept and we can talk to each other privately. Lafe did not say anything about Joshua. He doesn't answer many questions, he just writes what he wants us to hear. Where are you staying? We are staying at Spring Hill and won't be into Chicago until 8:30 pm so we will not be at the Meet & Greet.

Oh I wonder if the Joshua that Lafe was talking about was my Joshua!!!! I have written to my son and asked him about Lafe too, but I am still waiting for an answer!!! Wouldn't that be great?? We are arriving in Milwalki around 8:30pm and staying at Navy Lodge. Arriving on Thurs and leaving on Sunday. hate to leave but we have to work on Mon. Talk to you soon!!
