Ok, my son said in his first letter he had a mental breakdown & requested to come home, is this normal? He did say right after that that he had 5 men talk to him & he is still there & doing better than ever. 2nd letter came & he said that BC is not really hard just inconvient. He sound strong & good. He is in a 900 div & said is very busy. This week came & no letter. Do you think it is just because he is busy? His PIR is 11/21. I just want to make sure that they wont let him quit because I know that he can do this. Just a mom trying to get peace of mind.

My sons PIR is11/7 .He had the same homesick and it was only when he was on watch or not busy. So that is good that your son is busy. Has anyone ever taken the train into Chicago? I was told that it is easier than driving.

I used to take the train into Chicago from Glakes all the time. You get off downtown, at the main station. I used to walk everywhere, these days I'd likely splurge on a cab or learn the bus routes. Do you know what you're planning on seeing in Chicago? I loved the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum of Natural History. There are directions how to get to both on their sites, including bus and shuttle routes from the trains. Also there is a USO in Chicago if you need a break or directions and assistance. They also list free attractions for sailors with ID.

This is the link to the train system:

The train isn't hard to use at all, but I can't give details, it was far too long ago to be exactly the same.

Hi, Well my husband left for bootcamp on OCt. 6th and b4 he left we gave his recruiter all the paperwork thye needed for DEERS. 2 weeks into BC my husband called and said to fax over more stuff so i did. Now its been at least 3-4 weeks since i faxed the stuff. I still havent gotten any paperwork so i can go get my military ID. I asked his recruiter and he said I should have gotten something already, and that my husband is the is the only one who can send the papers. The first time my husband called he said he enrolled us into deers so we shoul get something soon. What should I do? Who can i call?
Also that website mypay.com to look at his pay, where does he get the pin from? Would he have done that already? I want to look at the breakdown of his pay so i know what to expect next pay...thanks

My son is graduating this Friday, & I have told him in letters to add his uncle to his attendees list. But when he called after bs he said he hadn't added him & hadn't heard anything about the list, & didn't think it mattered anyway. But the brochure they sent us said that everyone has to be on the list in order to get in. His uncle is driving up that morning from 2 hours away, & I am concerned whether he will be able to get in or not. Do you know whether he will if he's not on my son's list? Thanks
