Navy For Moms

My son graduates on January 15th and was looking for other moms to possibly be able to meet and greet in Chicago.

It is so good to "hear" from other parents who have son's in DIV 067! My son Ryan is also quiet but think that is serving him well for the time being. He also expressed frustration from the lack of progress the group is making for because of a few fellow recruits, hoping they get it together so it does not delay their graduation.

Hi Tily I am sooo excited to be talking to other moms whose kids are w/ Brandon. In some kind of weird way it brings relief for me. So far you are my second mom so now I know we have 3 good boys in their together. Do you know how many are in one division?

That is good to know. I felt bad for Brandon going by himself but at the same time I know how he feels about his faith. I forgot they do go by their last names his is Leininger. I also would like to tell Brandon that I have been talking to you guys so I would love the last names of your boys also.

Brandon is my first also. I call him my miracle child because when he was born he weighed 2 lbs. He is my very best friend in the world and we talk about everything. When I would have a problem he was always there for me and now it is so hard to handle life without him but I am trying. I know they can not stay home for ever but it feels like it is just to soon and I did not finish my time w/ him. This site has really helped me though especially talking to people like you who understand and not to mention learning our boys are together.

I do not know how many are in a division. Ryan has been to a Catholic service twice and a Buddist once (curious I guess!) His last name I can email if you want to see if the guys know each other, he is older at 24yrs. We are planning on driving out in Jan from NY for the graduation. Hopefully there will be no delays. He did mention he had to have wisdom teeth removed, ouch! Time did pass quickly while they grew up, I have no idea where all that time went:)

Ryan is also my oldest and we are very close. My husband was in the army for 25 years and gone alot, so Ryan really stepped up and helped out when ever he could. If you ever need to talk just let me know, I know alot about the army but nothing about the navy!

We to are planning on flying to GL for PIR. We have not made any final arrangements yet just in case something changes. I can hardly wait until we get the final word that everything is a go.

Sounds like you got a little more time than me. Brandon is a young 19.... I will definitely mention his name to Brandon to let him know we have all been chatting.

Our son is in div 068 so I think his PIR is on 1/15/09 according to the website. I hope to get notification soon so we can make final arrangements. Btw, I plan to videotape (if allowed) the ceremony in HD so if anyone is interested I can make you a disk copy (but you will need a Blu Ray player).

Hi Kristy Nice to hear from you. Have you been able to talk to your son yet. If you scroll through these discussions you will find I know at least one other parent who has a child in that division also. Will you be attending the graduation.

Reply to This

hi debby, yes i will be attending graduation i wouldn't miss this for the world. will you be going?

Reply to This

YES, I am like you I wouldn't miss it for the world either. I am counting down the days until the big event. Brandon is a grad n go so I am concerned about the time I will have w/ him after graduation. I have read where some leave right after and others leave days later. I just have to wait and see and no matter what I will make the most of whatever time we have together (trying not to cry the whole time)
