Anyone have a Sailor in DIV 088

Hi all. I was just wondering if anyone else here has a Sailor in DIV 088.......would love to meet with ya if possible when the big day comes. I think I am more nervous then my son is. He will be one in front holding the flag. He got to call home Friday nite and told me about it. He said...."Mom if I mess up then everyone behind will too.........lol" I told him " well one good thing is that you all will be doing the same so none of us civilians will even notice....we will think it's suppose to be like that.

Talking with alot of laughter sure does help when they get their phone call. We got to talk for an hour and it seemed like it flew by.

Anyways........if you are going to be at the GL on Jan 30th for the big day....just hollar at me.

my son jason is also in this group = he aslo is a flag bearer -said he is gets to carry the ship logo - told me he would be in the front on the left hand side - he told me he got this about the second week of bc - looking forward to meeting yu at pir

Hi Kathy.........My boy says him and jason are buddies. That is too kewl that they hang around each other. Brandon has been sick with a fever of 101.6 He says there are others in his division that are sick too. Have you heard anything about this?

jason wrote to me last week and said he was sick with fever, sore thort , chest stuff - hurt to eat "jello" ( sounds more like strep) = but got meds and a cahnce to sleep for one day so guess he told his brother he was feeling better = sure hope that the gas chamber goes well since he has been sick with an upper respiratory thing = will see you at pir - when are you getting there and where are you staying ? my other son will be coming with me and we are so excited about this

Hi, Tammy. I'm Kat. Did you get the Grad pack already?? I haven't so, I haven't booked my flight. Now I'm getting antsy! I got the Friday call from Robert and he said MAYBE Jan 30. (I don't know if it makes a difference, but Robert is Ship 13, Div 088)

Hey Kat. No haven't got my package yet. Been watching the mail everyday.....and I work there at the post office......(hehehehe). I'm not booking anything till I get that and know for sure that he passes his running test. I am antsy myself. Think I am more excited than my son........I think that's a Parent thing !!!

I will hollar at everyone when I get my pack.
My son is on Ship 13 too.

I went on Navy web and they said 088 is grading on Jan 30. (graduating). I'll give a heads up if I get anything!!!!!

i have a son in 088 And have not received pir package yet i did book a room at the Marriot but not a flight yet untill I know he passes everything,he said he did't pass his running I know that he can take it again My name is sue and my husband and I live in massachusetts.looking forward to seeing my son

Hi Susan. I am from TN. I haven't received my PIR package either. Didn't want to book a room till I got it. Wasn't sure how all this worked.........didn't know I can get a room now or did I have to wait? I talked to my son and he was telling me that they have another running on the 12th. If your son does it that day too, I hope he passes it. Mine barely passed when he was at home. Teenagers.......you would think it would be a breeze for them.........(smiling) No offense there. I hope mine passes too. He says he should.
Are you going to the Meet and Great on thursday nite? I am going to try to make it.

Don't stress too much over the graduation package, it's nice to have because of the parking pass but there's not that much in the brochure.

It does supply a list of hotels in the area that provide a Navy discount but you do not need the package to make your hotel reservations. Just about every hotel in the area will provide a Navy discount just by asking for it and they also have very liberal cancellation policies. When my nephew graduated, the family had reservations for Thursday and Friday nights as he was a grad 'n go - they found out at the PIR that they only had 15 minutes to say their goodbyes so they went back to the hotel and was told as long as they cancelled by noon that day - there was no charge for the hotel room.

Hotels are easy to cancel...airlines - that's another story!

has anyone with the 088 dividion gotten there packet yet? jason told me they mailed them out last week but havent gotten mine yet and am getting nervous about trying to book flights and hotels

I got mine in the mail today. It's a brochure and a letter stating what times and everything else you need to know My son's was mailed on the 6th and I got it today. You get one car pass for the PIR day.. Still won't know about the liberty till it gets closer. I am booking my flight and room tonite. Yea..........I am getting somewhere now. If you want to know anything......just holler at me and I will see if it's on the list.
Gates open at 6:30..........9:00 cermony starts. Photos can be taken inside only.

Says that recruits can not have cell phones. Write to your recruit to find our their liberty schedule.
Must have ID and the 4 listed can not be deleted and others added the week on graduation. So make sure you know who all is going since only 4 can go.

Can not see your recruit till the day of graduation.
