Trish,

I am crying reading your comment! I just know that is how I will be when I get that first letter. But it will be good tears! My son left his room in the same condition. I have decided I am going to take a picture of it before I clean it and begin a scrapbook for him. (his last days as a civilian and the sailor he has become!) I haven't got that far yet. He just left for the Great Lakes on Wed. Jan. 14th. This site has been so helpful to me. I am looking knowing each one of you special ladies and your recruits.

Still no address!! I am going crazy! I have letters to mail!! I haven't been able to reach his recruiter my phone, but I did send him an email today. I hope I hear from him soon. I am happy for all of you that have gotten your information, just wanting mine! I want to know if my son is with any of yours! I had a bad morning, lots of tears!! I just want his address, then I think I might feel a bit better! I'll keep you posted!

I feel so bad for you. I got Drew's box Friday the 9th, then the form letter with address Monday the 12. Since you got Jason's box on Tues, I am sure you will get the letter Monday at the latest. I I am so curious as to how many recruits are there? I have to admit, I would be hounding that recruiter. Please keep us posted. I'm praying for you and your family. This is soooo frustrating. I really never realized how cut off from them we would be. Just not hearing his voice is driving me crazy. I think I am going to write a list of questions for Drew so when he does call I won't forget to ask him. Hang in there!

My son is Ship 12 USS Triton, Div 108 -
I copied my form letter and carried it around all day yesterday! I was sharing it with everyone! :) I was so happy to get it. Aaron sounded so upbeat. it made me feel so much better.

Trish - can relate to the laundry!! I made the comment to my husband last night that I didn't think I'd ever be done folding his laundry... he has been gone 10 days and I"m still finding clothes!! lol I'm going to attack his room this weekend also - my craft room should I say ???

Funny about the craft room -- I have some craft things I need to store in my son's room. I've been folding laundry too and still have some to fold tomorrow -- plus what came back in my son's box (which I guess I should unpack... didn't have the heart to do it when it came earlier this week). Although every day gets a little easier, I'm finally able to tell people that Tony's at BC without tearing up. He used to work in a local supermarket, and when I was in that store earlier today I had a hard time not looking for him. It was also hard to go to church on Sunday without him being there with us (he's a good kid and has been attending in the weeks leading up to his leaving). He made sure to bring his Bible, which was a shock to me when he told me he was bringing it along. We've ben writing letters and starting to research when PIR will be and how much it will cost to get there..and of course waiting for the time we'll start getting letters and phone calls.

I still don't have Jason's address! Nothing in today's mail & we won't get mail until Tuesday (due to the holiday on Monday). I'm going crazy! I just want to send him these letters!!! I've tried calling his recruiter, can't reach him. I've emailed him, nothing back yet!! I cry when I think about it. I'm glad for all of you, but wish I was wish you in having an address!!

Debra,

Hi! My name is Kelly. Our son, Kevin, left last Wednesday for bootcamp. We were told from his chief that we shouldn't expect to hear anything until the 3rd week of bootcamp. He said that somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd week you get a box with his belongings and an address to write. We were pleasantly surprised tonight when my mom got a phone call from him. He told us that it is very cold and snowing. They aren't allowed to go outside. He said that it is tough, but not as bad as he had invisioned. He said the first night he didn't get any sleep, but that they get 8 hours of sleep each night. He said he was doing well. I hope that helps ease your anxieties. I am so thankful for this group. God bless you and your recruit.

Kelly

How frustrating!!! Hang in there Debra, keep writing him letters - can you stop by the recruiters office? I wonder if other Bootcamp moms have had the same experience. I haven't checked out the bootcamp for Moms group yet this morning - did you post there also?

Hey Debra~ If it is close to you I would stop by the recruiters office. I can't belive hisa recruiter doesn't have access to his address. Make some "mother rumble" and I am sure that recruiter will find his address.

Hello Trish,

Hi! My name is Kelly. My son flew out of Florida on January 14th for boot camp. We miss him already. We got a phone call tonight and hear that things are going well there.
