I am still waiting for his address. I'm not worried about getting his letters or a phone call (although that would be amazing!!). I just want to send the letter's I've written him. I don't want everyone else getting mail & he doesn't. Don't want him to think we don't care! It's a bad morning for me (can't you tell!). I am glad to here that others have heard from their boys & girls & that they are doing well. I do keep them all & all of you in prayers daily!! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get his address & it will be good. It's his b-day tomorrow, first one spend apart! So I'm sure it will be a hard day. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement & kind words! Love you all!!

Debra - Call his recruiter they can get that info for you. I called that day after my son left for BC and I had his address. when I got the official address it was slightly different but my son got everything we sent him.

The recriuter address had a Ship number with the division number and a street address. the Offical one had a Ship name instead of number and a Building number instead of a street address be he received it all.

They hardest thing for me was when we got the box of his personal things back home. It is a reality checkpoint.
my son just gradutated BC 11/7/2008.

good luck

He left on Jan. 8th & I've already gotten the box (that was heard, more tears!!) on Jan. 13th, but I still don't have an address to send these letters!! I hope it's tomorrow (his b-day). I'm going nuts!

You poor thing! My son Kevin left on the 7th and his birthday was the 8th, so I understand what you're going through. If it's any consolation, I've heard that it takes a long time before they get our letters so you can probably get yours in the mail and they will arrive when the others' letters do... someone posted here that her son's group didn't get any letters, then they all arrived on the same day and it was like Xmas! .... but of course you need the address! Good luck! I hope you can get ahold of his recruiter tomorrow! Just keep writing! Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way!

Debra - I just found this on the Boot Camp Moms forum. Maybe it will help!

" So, if you have a recruiter that does not seem to be able to get your recruit's address for you there are other options. You may also get someone at the Public Affairs Office 847-688-2405 to give you ship and division number. Once you have the div. number and ship you can go to the RTC homepage http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/index.html
there you would click on recruit families and contact your recruit and it will show you how to address the envelope. You just need to know your son's div. and ship number first. -Marie (Steven's Mom)"

Hope it helps! - Denise

My son left on Jan. 7 and we got our first letter today. It was written the 2nd night after he arrived at BC (he said it was the first night he actually had a bed). The letter was short and he sounded very unhappy. He said he was hoping it would get better because he was "not liking it there very much." I was so excited to get a letter but it was such a downer; I'm hoping and praying that by now things are going much better for him. They must have held his letter a few days before he could actually mail it. I'm sure the first few days at BC are no fun, but I felt so bad reading the letter. I had gotten over crying for the past few days, but this letter made me start in again. Have any of you gotten letters and did the first ones sound this sad?

Hey ladies! My Jason left on Jan. 8th & I finally got my "form letter" yesterday on his b-day!! I had been crying all day & I was so excited when my son called me & told me it came. I made him come up to the school where I work & bring it. I was out coaching cheerleading practice & started jumping all around. I think the girls thought I was crazy! It was so great to see those few lines he wrote at the end. He said he missed me & loved me. Told me to tell his girlfriend he loved her & to take care of her. He said to send stamps and another phone card & to write to him ASAP! He said he would write as soon as he could. He mentioned the 4 tickets for PIR and then said he love me again! It was great! I mailed out all my letters to him. He is DIV 113, USS Arizona Bldg 7111, anyone else have a son there??
I hope the rest of you get your letters this week. I know how hard it is. I was going crazy & crying all the time. I just wanted something from him. I knew I'd feel better once I got some contact with him & it's amazing how those few lines made me feel so much better!
I am praying for all of you & for our wonderful children.
