Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Sorry, I am way out of my element in these uncharted waters (look, another pun). Someone please save me from myself before I go insane!

Hi NurseMom, welcome to Navy Moms. I would like to say that all you are feeling is perfectly normal. All us Mothers who have gone thru this part of our loved Ones journey have felt like they were insane or felt like they were mourning. The form letter usually comes right after but can take up to 2 weeks. Also they have changed they way form letter is being sent also. I will find the site for you and send to you. I also help out on boot camp moms. So if you ever need to talk, vent, information please reach out or come by and say hello. We have a Great Group of Ladies. We encourage, pray and share experiences. So welcome again. And know you are never alone.

Thank you, PhoenixMom! Hoping to connect with others that arrived at the same time and might be enlisted in the nuclear field as well.

My son arrived on April 27th and is in the nuke program, also. Not so patiently waiting for the letter. This not knowing anything is tough. Hoping the letter comes this week.

Welcome, I understand totally. I was such a mess, but you have to know, they are working hard and the not knowing will make a person insane. The focus is to stay strong and keep busy. The nor knowing will eat you up. Just know no news is good news. Last thing you want is a call early on, be a use either it they need more info or its I didn't pass.  And that's the last thing you want to hear. Not only us it heartbreaking for you but for them. It is A very strenuous thing to have to go thru, lack of sleep no communication so I say stay strong because they need you too.

My boyfriend is also in the nuke program!

Hi everyone. My son arrived 4/26 (Thursday) and is also in the NUKE program I received his box Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully the form letter will come this week :)

Good Morning TXMom welcome o the Navy Moms, Glad to hear your Loved One made it ok, and Congratulations to your New SR.
