From the moment on 10/1 when the bus drove away in Dallas I haven't stopped crying. Her box arrived Friday and I completely lost it. It's like grief. I can't control it some days. Am I loosing my mind?

No, you are not losing your mind. You will find that you are in good company.

Things will get better once you have the form letter and are able to send those letters that you have been or will start writing and also start planning for PIR.

Arrival and What Happens at RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Also check the info I left on your My Page and in your Inbox.

Hi LoudandProud, Welcome to Navy Moms, let me tell you we all were like that at one point. I was a total mess myself. My Husband and Daughters to my Supervisor didnt know what to do with me. I literally took time off because all I did was cry. I've been doing this now for a Good Year and a half. and still at times I get teary eyed because I miss my son. Please come join Boot camp Moms, you will meet so many Moms that are just starting out as You, and you can share so much and the other Ladies also share their experience. You are never alone on this site. There is always someone who may answer and give Pointers. The more you read the more Knowledge you will have. believe me you are going to know more about what your Loved One will go thru before they do. Sounds silly but very true. If there is anything you need just ask. I help out on Boot camp Moms and I really would like for you to come say Hi! there is so much info on that site. I will wait for you and please dont hesitate to ask anything. Mrs. LemonElephant helped me through my way when my Son started out. She is Great!

Welcome Aboard Loud and Proud,

I found this poem and wanted to share, keep in mind I cry every time I read it:

Today I miss my Sailor, my tears I try to hide. If only I could hold her, have her at my side. But I'm a Navy mom, and strong I have to be, whether she is home, ashore, or out to sea. I pray my job was done well, and she knows in her heart I'm proud that she's my daughter, and that I'll do my part. Today my mind is filled, with thoughts of all our fleet, as proudly as they serve, and my heart skips a beat. She grows each day I know, into a greater woman and I'm entrusting her to God, to fill a greater plan. So while I cannot hold her, my Sailor now she serves I'll keep the watch and duty, and try to calm my nerves. Today I miss my Sailor, and while I am so proud, the silence with her gone, rings in my ears so loud. To hear her voice I'd run to hold her close, again today, I'll get that precious call. Until the Lord sees fit, to bring her home to me, a Navy Strong Momma, is what I'll have to be.

No your not losing your mind.  One moment they are with you the next you come home to an empty room that ,in my case, still stinks with socks on the floor, and navy bag in the corner and silence.  The silence hit hard Tuesday morning.  My husband and I did not realize how much our sons absence would affect us.  No your perfectly normal.  I was crying while shopping and the cashier asked if I needed a hug....Lol.

It has been three days and I agree with the empty room statement...even the smelly socks! Random things that remind me he is not home gets me...
