Navy For Moms

My son is in A school in Pensacola and said that a female sailor went jogging outside the base last night alone and was robbed, shot 3 times in the face and killed. Apparently it is a VERY rough neighborhood and robberies are common.

Please warn your loved ones to be careful there.

Another senseless act of violence. Thoughts and prayers to the young Sailor's family. Very Sad :(

Very very sad. Its not just Pensacola though. No matter what base your on. You are briefed about certain things that happen in that specific area but our Sailors need to be careful every where. We have been stationed at a few places that did NOT like any American presence there at all. My new Sailor learned very quickly that alot of business also like to try to take advantage of our Sailors too because they see them as young and dumb. My heart goes to her family and friends.

My Sailor is home now and I told him about this. He was telling me HORROR stories. I mean...wow. He went to Pcola for A school and when he was down there ALL the new recruits where told they could not be off base after dark. And a warning went for ALL Sailors to be very careful because of the rapes..Not just women. Please make sure your Sailor knows his/her area. God Bless and keep our Military force safe. This is terrible.

Wendy, as you know "one" of my sailor daughters went to Aschool in PCola, and when she got there "last year" the base was locked down! It's a rough area, I worried all the time while she was there. there was a sailor out with his buddies, big guys, and one sailor went out of the "bar" (they were of drinking age) and he got jumped, almost killed him, he was almost beaten to death! by Teenage boys! Needless to say, the sailor is no longer in Active duty, he is now disabled! Pcola is a very very VERY BAD PLACE. I feel sorry for the family of that poor little girl sailor, makes me sick I am crying as I write this, it's just so so sad,

also , as a footnote, It's dangerious, we all know that, but you know some of these kids just need to "get away from the navy" sometimes, it's normal for someone to just want a break from the everyday life of military., I do not blame that baby girl, for running off the base, she probably was just minding her own business and got jumped, just like the sailor last year.

Donna Your right about the jogging, my son said it was common to jog off base he did it all the time. The poor girl was just trying to get away from it all I'm sure. It is sooo saaad I can't stand it.
