Navy For Moms

We recieved a mailing address for my son in boot camp and he's mailed us 3 letters in the same time frame saying "please write" it breaks my heart, I have mailed 14 letters to him! Can anyone help me with correct address? I was told to use: DIV 076 USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT, BLDG 7102, RECUIT TRAINING COMMAND, GREAT LAKES IL 60088.

Honestly not sure...you might check with his recruiter about that, but FYI we actually fed ex'd some letters to the address and they got to him and he didn't get in any trouble...note if you do that however, you need to waive a signature on it because it isn't delivered directly to him ok?

you can email the Recruit office Chicago and ask them for his correct address. Explain the situation and see if they can assist you. I am sure they can.

Do it soon because they do not repond on w/e's

Good luck and please let me know that this helped. Happy Holidays

The post by Holly is correct - when my daughter called me she said to use the address with the street listed bcuz it gets to them a lot quicker. She said it will go directly to their division instead of the post office.

Hi there, I am not a mom, but my husband is in boot camp right now too... I am very concerned about addresses also.. I have recieved 2 letters from him, and it sounds like he has only recieved one of my letters! My son and I mail him one everyday. His recruiter gave me one address and the official letter gave me something else... Andrew's return address on his letters are SHIP 05 DIV 078 Recruit Training Command, 3610 Illinois, St. Great Lakes.... The other was the same as the one you posted, it is just Division 78.... same ship. Will your son graduate on Jan 23rd? I am hoping for a phone call to clear up the address mess... will you let me know if you hear from your son first?? Thanks!

Hey Gina, I responded to your post in another forum, but I'll post here too. My son is also in div 078. Use this address. This is the one I got from the recruiter and should work fine. I haven't heard from my son, but there is someone else that is using this in our division and she said her fiance has received her mail. Gina, also join the PIR group of our guys 1/23/09 DIV 70-79 & 910. You'll meet other moms/wives that you can talk with.

Tammy, my son went a whole week without receiving mail from me. He spent 1/2 his letter home asking why we stopped writing. My son told him having the name of the ship USS TR does help them get their mail sooner. Leave off the Recruit Training Command. I know exactly how you feel though. Hang in there mom!!!

I have changed the address and I still don't know if my son has gotten them. Yesterday we got his grad info for Jan 23rd. Still writing but now I'm thinking that as time gets closer to grad. he won't get them cuz he's gone to A school. Any ideas?

They have to forward his mail to him at A school. So keep writing!!!! I bet he is receiving them now. Jan 23rd is just around the corner!! Are you going to be able to attend graduation?

Tammy,

When my son was in Boot camp at G.L. This is how we mailed his letters, and he got them all. Make sure you put last name first..

SR Last Name, First Name
Ship ?? Div ??
3405 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes Il, 60088

Hope this helps. I know the first generic letter we got from him was not how we mailed the letters. You can also go to the Navy wev site and it has more information. There is a FAQ area.
Hope this helps some!
Happy New Years to you!
