My fiance is coming home in a week!!! I'm so excited!!! He's home for ten days then leaves for Japan for 3 years :( But for right now he is coming home and that's all that matters!! Please if anyone can give me any advice on how to handle the fact that he is going to the other side of the world. How do I deal with the fact that my love will be gone for who knows how long.

I know you must be on cloud9 to soon be reunited with your loved one. My hope for you is that the 10 days go slowly and you are able to enjoy your time together. My husband and I were stationed in Japan for 3 years and they have some awesome bazaars, so I bet you'll be receiving some stellar gifts from your fiance. When is the big day? Hopefully you'll be able to go to Japan after you are married and you become his dependent. Until then, write as much as you can and send packages. And like they say, separation makes the heart grow fonder. Best wishes on your reunion!

But will he be able to receive packages when he's deployed? I'm so new to how all his works it's so complicated haha TOMORROW is the big day and I can't wait!!!! I pick him up at 7:20 at the airport!!!!!!

I believe he will be able to get packages when he is deployed. I know all other branches of the military can when they are gone especially for that long of duration. Our base library has several books concerning being a military wife and what to expect during deployments, moves, and military life in general. I volunteer tomorrow and would be more than happy to jot down the titles for you if you are interested. Just let me know.
