Confused about PIR date...

Hello to everyone -
My son is in division 808 and sent home his graduation information, which he wrote 09Jan09 on...then his stepmother (who lives in a different state than me) told my daughter (who in turn told me), that his graduation is not January 9. My son will be staying in GL for additional training...so I guess the question is: what is his correct date of graduation? I'd really love to know so I can get started on travel reservations. If anyone out there has any idea about this, I'd love to know....otherwise hopefully he will write me with the correct date if January 9 isn't it.....thanks so much for all the help!!

I'm not sure where his stepmother got her information but according to the schedule posted on the Recruit Training Command website . . .

TG 08 (10) Divisions (056-063 & 808 & 908) Graduate Friday, 09 Jan 09.

so, Division 808 will be January 9, 2009 . . .

Thanks for the reply - I'm going to go ahead with January 9 and hope for the best! Ohhh, to be in Tucson again. Tucson is my hometown. I love it there. I live in Utah now and have for the past 15 years, but I still love good old Arizona. I hope you are enjoying your beautiful weather....it's snowing here :-(

He may be what is know as grad n go. meaning that he will PIR on the 9th and when will leave from PIR to class. Some sailors are not able to go with family after PIR they need to get packed up to move to the other side of base for classes to start up.
