Navy For Moms

Hello everyone,
Hope your lifes are blessed. I am looking for a group that has sons or daughters in dentistry. My son is in dentistry and he is and has been during some cross training with medical too. I would love to talk with you if you have a child in this field in the Navy. It has been a while since I had someone with a child in the same field to talk to beside our family.

Debra, I have 2 sailors and neither one is in the dental rate. I saw the word dentistry on the home page and had to check it out! I am a registered dental hygienist in NJ and PA. Both of my sons could have chosen this rate and didn't. It is an excellent choice though and will be a nice career for him should he choose to pursue it out of the military. I have been in the field for 25 years now and am still enjoying it! I wish him lots of luck with it and hope he enjoys it too!!!
My life is truly blessed with both of my sons in the Navy and are doing well. If ever you have any dental questions please don't ever hesitate to ask me!

Hello there, my son is a Hospital Corpsman who ended up taking the Dental Assistant C-School and graduated a couple of weeks ago. He is now in San Diego, Camp Pendleton, awaiting FMTB training, but is working as a dental assistant until he does it. So any questions you have, feel free to ask. I can ask him any questions as well and then relay for you. Have a great day...Ruth, Mom of Christopher PIR 02-06-09 I won't check in again until later in the evening...I drive school bus so I'm gone a lot.

I was a Master Chief Dental Technician for 24 years. I retired before the NAVY Dental Technician school in San Diego was closed. I am very cautious about the training that is provided in the HM school. If you hav any questions I will attempt to answer them.

I enjoyed my 24 years and would not have changed my choice or experiences.

What is FMTB????

Hi MstrChief

I was a DT for five years, when to school in San Diego. I loved my job. Now my son is in Corpsman school and has Dental after that. I was disappointed when I heard they put dental in to the HM rate. I think FMTB is similar to FMF(fleet marine force) That is really what my son wants. He got the dental "C" school after he left the seals program.
