Division 079 USS Theodore Roosevelt

Just got the letter today...my son is in this division..anyone else have a son/daughter in this division?

Rhonda - I believe my daughter is in the same ship (05) and Div (070) as your son. She left Nov 18th - PIR date of 1/23/09 -

Same ship, I guess different division. The website says PIR 1/23, but I'm confused over that one because he left 12/2 . Don't know what is going on with that one, but his recruiter has verified that he is 079 though he doesn' understand the PIR date either..LOL I'm just waiting to see at this point. How are you holding up with all of this?

Hey Rhonda. My son is DIV 78 and he left on Dec 2 as well. Jan 23 does seem like too soon for graduation, but I'm not going to complain. I've heard about some kids that finish in 8 weeks and others in 9. It just depends on how quickly the divisions fill up. I guess we'll know for sure when we hear from our kids.

After reading through things it seems that the people who went earlier to GL had to sit around and wait for everyone to show up so they just may be graduating 1/23. I'm not complaining either...actually I'd venture to guess that neither one of our kids is complaining about it either...LOL I was hoping to get a letter today, but i have a feeling the mail lady didn't even come up here today....we are on a mountain and the fog is so thick today that I barely made it home. In his comments on the form letter I received Monday he said he thought he would be able to write Sunday (this past Sunday) so I'm hoping sometime this week to hear from him, have you heard anything?

My husband is there! I miss him terribly - I can't wait to get a letter or a phone call from him! He left 11/25 - that's odd your son left earlier.
