There is a duty rotation though, as in every few days, they will have to stand a usually 2-8 hour watch, but even when they are not on watch, they must remain on the base, no liberty, until the turnover when the next duty section takes over. The rotation is based on the number of people on the ship. My husband's ship then had four duty sections, so he had duty every four days. During the holiday standdown though when a lot of people went out of town, there was only two duty sections, so he had duty every other day. Thank you... Not sure, but he saw some fellas from his DIV at the big NEX and they told him it took them 2 weeks to phase up, this post says min. 30 days... not sure if things have changed. He was also told that school was less strict than THU... so I guess i'll just have to hurry up and wait (doing that a lot the past 6 months).</p>
