There is no Family Day for Navy PIR. The first time you will see your new Sailor is at PIR.

Plan to arrive the day before PIR so you won't risk missing PIR and go to Sarge's Meet and Greet from 5 pm to 10 pm at the Lakehurst Event Center (go to http://www.mynavytaxi.com/events.html to RSVP) and maybe go to part of another Meet and Greet (Flanagan's has one).

you get go to graduation (get there as soon as the gates open) once graduation is over, you'll be given several minutes with your sailor. From there, your sailor will go back for briefings. You will RTC and hang until your sailor announces he can leave post. Stay close by so you get him quickly.  you'll have from that time to spend with him/her and have to drop him back off a little before 9 that same night. All depends on his flight schedule, you might be be able to spend time with him on Saturday.  Good luck!

txnavymom0917, you are close, but not quite right. Those who will be flying out are able to leave from the Drill Hall when Liberty is called unless they are in the 900 division and have things to finish up. Those who remain in GL will spend a few minutes with loved ones and then return to their ships and then go check in across the street, which can take 2 to 5 hours, and loved ones will leave the RTC and pick them up across the street when the Sailors call. Those flying out will know when they must be back and those staying in GL must return by 10 pm (read that as 9:30 to give enough time to get back to the barracks).

See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Will there be a tiger cruise. How do I get details for CVN

acb2, there are no Tiger Cruises at the RTC, so this is a strange place to ask your question since this discussion deals with PIR.

I see that your Sailor is assigned to the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) unless he is with another vessel now. If there is to be a Tiger Cruise, then it will be at the end of a 6 month (or more) deployment. Your Sailor will send you details if it is to happen this year and help to get a female sponsor for you.
