depends on what he would be held back for?? Why does he think he won't make it ???

And how long has he been at BC? Sometimes at the beginning they are discouraged. It will get better as the weeks go by. I have the same question at Kirsten - is there a particular reason why he thinks he won't graduate on time?

there could be a few reasons, medical , failing battle station (if they the first to do BS then there is a chance he still graduates in time he will go at a diff. day , but if he's one of the lasts div to do BS then graduation might be moved a week for him. If they fail a run they usually work with him til he passes so i wouldn't worry about that one.

I read somewhere that about 10 percent of recruits do not graduate as scheduled. Some are held back for medical, fitness or academic reasons and graduate later, a *few* end up separated for those same or other reasons.

We recently had a discussion here where one mom found out her son did not pass the run. She did get calls informing her of his progress, but in the end she had to take it on faith that her son would pass before graduation and showed up anyway. He passed at the last minute and, though he didn't get to PIR, he did get to go on liberty weekend with her so the trip wasn't wasted.

I'm sorry for not getting back but I'm limited to using the local library. My son thought (at first) that he would not pass the physical tests near the end of BC. Now he is more confident. I just found out that he is in the band now and playing the tuba again. So it looks like things are going good for him. Thanks for your response and concern.
