Hi All!!
I need help and some support maybe suggestions as well!! My son who we are VERY proud of is about to graduate (div 262 ) 8/25. When he left 6/28 I was speaking with other parents and confirmed the graduation date so I purchased my tickets 4 2 for my husband and myself and 2 for my 9 and 10 yr old kids (my son's brothers). Unfortunately when I received the letter from my son he listed his girlfriend her mother myself and my husband (his dad) as guests so no room for my younger sons his brothers. My son turned 18 while in boot camp and is still very inexperienced in the field of love but he believes he's in love and his girlfriends family is supporting of this so I can't argue. My question is is there a place I can wait with my two young boys outside of the ceremony on base? We are traveling from California and I can't leave them in the hotel. Just thought I'd ask thanks for the helpful information in advance

Oh boy. This is what I am afraid of as well.... my son leaves in Nov for bootcamp. When do you receive the letter of who is on their access list?
Beth, talk to your son now about who he will be sending the tickets to for PIR. Beginning in October guests must have a ticket to get on the RTC. Discuss who he will invite if he is able to have four guests and who will be invited if he is in a large TG and can only invite three guests. It would also be a good idea to let the recruiter know of the change to tickets, which affects those who are shipping now so that the future Sailors can decide early who they will invite since the recruit has the final say as to who will be given tickets with their names on them.
Thanks for the info useful for others but my son graduates 8/25/17 so this would not apply to me- the tickets I mean.
Richie's Mama, You are welcome. Notice that that reply is for Beth who will need that info.
Wow, we are afraid of something similar happening in our family. My nephew left on 8/9. His mom is remarried and the number of guests is a problem when you have a blended family. He also has the girlfriend issue. All I can do is be supportive and realize that at his age he really isn't mature enough to make such decisions and not to hold it against him. I'm sure each sailor has lots of others that want to be there but they can't be enough room for all of us. I try to just stay positive, but you are not alone.
Thank you for your response and support it helps to know We are not alone in our situation!

Would you be able to bring someone else with you so that they can stay at the hotel with your other children while you attend the ceremony?

Hi no we are traveling with my 2 boys my husband and I and we purchased our flights quite a while back so right now the pricing is outrageous and aside from that we don't have any gamy available to stay with our boys. As it is with flight hotel rental car we're well over $2,500 for the trip so to include another person and pay additional wasn't planned - at this point I might consider it but I just don't have anyone
I friend requested you it would not allow me to send a message
