Has anyone received an address yet for your sailor? I too hesitate to call the recruiter. I havent recieved my sons belonging yet. Has anyone received their sailors box of civilian belongings?

hello Michele...my son left the same day as yours and never heard from him since... it is killing me. I am a wreck, knowing he's not around just breaks my heart...I am struggling. Join the Boot Camp for Mom's, it helps to connect... I called the recruiter but he is not much help. I will call today see if he has his address already which I doubt but I will be bugging him.

Michelle,
My son arrived at GL on 12/2, I received the box on Friday 12/5 and I received the form letter today Monday 12/8. So be on the lookout. We are in TN so it doesn't seem to take to long to get here. They sent the box Fedex Express.

My daughter's boyfriend left 2 weeks ago for boot camp - he's like a son to us so I guess that counts! Still waiting to hear from him with first letter though we have been able to send ours out to him.

My son left for bc on 12-4. I actually got the "I'm here safe" phone call that night. I also got a bonus call yesterday - 12-7, because not everyone got to make a call before. It was great to hear his voice and know he is still ok three days later!
My youngest and I will be attending PIR - wouldn't miss it. Don't know when it is yet, but hope to know soon!

It was hard to say goodbye, knowing that he will not be here for any of the Holidays - but we are very proud of him!

I attended my son's swearing in on the 4th, and it was great. I had to hold back the tears, but it was a great experience. There were only 6 sworn in and two heading for the Navy. It is hard to let them go - but it would be the same hard no matter what they chose to do. This is such a great opportunity for them!

That's exactly what I told my son Jake. This is a great opportunity. I also told him it would be the adventure of his life. He got to GL on 12-16. I'm already writing letters to send as soon as I can. I'm going to call his recruiter on Monday, maybe I can get an address so he can get the letters at Christmas.

My daughter left for Great Lakes 12/2. Tomorrow will be one wk and I haven't heard from her yet. I didn't get the 'I'm here" call or the "kid in box" yet. I put something in the mail every day for her. I called her recruiter the day after she left. I thought it would be too early to get her address but the recruiter had it. It's never too soon to call. You should try calling your son's recruiter. They may have his addr. I hope so!
Megan's in Division 911/ship 6.
A lot of my worries are taken care of with this site. I don't know how I would get through the next 8 wks without it. Everyone here is so friendly and understanding. I'm still new but will answer any questions I can for you.
