Navy For Moms

Is anyone interested in sharing some favorite holiday recipes? My sailor called and asked me for two of her family favorites. I thought it might be fun to share! I've attached 3 recipes to this post.

Sounds like a fun idea Deborah. I make all of my husband's grandmothers recipes for Thanksgiving - so many in fact that sometimes I don't think we need a turkey!

Here's just one of the side dishes we make.

Corn Pudding
2 cans creamed corn
1 cup of sugar
1 can evaporated milk
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Dashes of nutmeg and cinnamon (to taste)
Dash of salt & pepper

Beat all of the ingredients together and put in an oven-proof casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes, or until pudding is firm in the center.

(I usually have 5 or 6 dishes plus the turkey in the oven at the same time, so the baking time could be a little off).

Sounds great; thank you! I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Those Cranberry Squares are so good for breakfast with coffee. I bought a HUGE bag of fresh cranberries at Sam's Club, washed & dried them and froze them.
