homecoming for Reagan

I was hoping that someone could give me some information about the Night Before Party for USS Ronald Reagan. This is our first sea deployment...so I am new to all this. I am planning on going to San Deigo, and I was told that there was an event that went on for the families the night before.

I really appreciate any information and/or suggestions on how to make the homecoming go smoothly.

I do know something about getting rooms. The lodge has a 90 day window, so you can call now and reserve rooms. Reserve for more than you need, and then cancel the days you don't. You have until 24 hours before check-in day. Also, you can stay at the BEQ, but children have to be over the age of 12. There is a reservation hotline. I don't know the number, but just look up your local BEQ number and they will give it to you.

I am trying to find out if there is going to be any activities the day of port or the night before. I heard that they had activities for the kids. I'll post anything if I find anything out.

Have you talked to the ombudsman? They're usually the ones that organize that stuff, and they'll be the ones to call you 24 hours before they pull in. If you don't know the ombudsman call the fleet and family there at the carrier base, and ask them for their info and you can call them directly. I know my ombudsman and the family readiness group are organizing the homecoming for my husbands boat in san diego in a few months! Hope that helps.
