Navy For Moms

Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone knows how this works. I got a letter from my husband, dated 11/2 (sunday). In his letter he said he has 3 tests to pass this week on wednesday, if he doesnt pass the test he gets set back and he can say goodbye to Thanksgiving and xmas. Now i was wondering if once he takes the test and say he failed, would he be able to call right away to inform us, or does he have to wait, or will he only get to write it in a letter?

I believe the command contacts you as that effects the PIR date. I would not worry. These kids are motivated to pass.Just be encouraging with every letter and phone call. Pump up pump up.....

I believe the "not knowing" is the hardest thing for me with my son's Navy career. I don't have any answers, but I wanted to send hugs and good thoughts your way.

They play alot of mind games with them during this point about passing or being held back. But if he is held back you will be notified.

This is also spouse, parent, g/f boot camp also. This will prepare you for deployments when they will be gone for 6 for 6-7 months at a time, and depending upon his rating where he will be and if it will be longer.

Just remeber for now during this time he is safe and you know where he is and in the future you won't know. We are all here for you during the good and the bad.

I want you to practice the power of Positive Imaging. The Navy has a lot invested in your recruit, and they will do everything they can to be sure your husband can pass. And to remember that Thanksgiving and Christmas from now on will be whenever you two are together to celebrate.
God be with you and your sailor!

Unless there has been dramatic changes since December 2005, he may or may not be able to call. I would suggest taking on a "positive" outlook on his and his division's passing with flying colors.

I just got back today from my sons graduation, and yes he told me he was to call me if he did or didn't pass. The whole time he was there they talked about holding them back.He did pass and with a expert marksman metal. But I like what Carols Kitchen said .When ever they are with us is thanksgiving and christmas. Don't worry. I know I did .And still will. But wait till you see how good he looks when he gets out.God watch over them all.

MM Wilson----Your signature says a lot about who you are and what you are about. I like that. From a Navy mom who appreciates young people who have character and intergity.....I am a juvenile parole officer and know that not everyone has the character traits you do. Take care and god speed. Martha

Theres nothing to worry about. If by the smallest chance he were to fail the final, theres a make up the next day. And if by chance he didnt make it that time he would be able to call theat day to call and inform his family to plan accordingly. Out of 180 sailors only one didnt make the final. But no matter what the outcome make sure you let him know how proud u are. That was the best motivation i had when i was there. Keep strong.
