Hi Cheryl,
I remember the day my daughter left for bootcamp.. it was a sad day. The first few weeks were hard, I wrote alot, they love getting mails from their families. I even made scratch marks on the paper to let her know its was from her cat.
next thing you know it will be time for you to go to her graduation. then off to school she goes and to her first duty station.
My daughter graduated March of this year and is now staioned in Washington State and I hear from her on a daily basis by either a phone call or by text. I miss her alot .
We too have a great mother and daughter relationship and she tells me everything about her life on the ship. I can't wait til I get to go on a vacation and see her.

Your story made me cry, but now everything about this makes me cry, you should have seen me in the post office today, Everyone knows Carissa & was asking how she was, I said she's fine I'm a mess !!!

Yes I know what you mean. I was a mess too and it didn't help that she had worked along side of me before she left for bootcamp and staff memebers or guests that had stayed in the hotel that I work at asks me about her. but it got easier as the days went by.
Now when they ask I just brag on how well she is doing and let them know How Proud I am of her.

Carissa and I ran A Swim Team together for 2 seasons. It was a lot of work but we loved doing it together. This year I have a new staff. I know they will be great, but it won't be the same without her. This was an idea she came up with and built by herself.( with help from MOM)She led alot of kids & parents, so it's nice to know that there are alot of people out there with love for her!! It helps a little.
