You will get a letter soon with his grad date. Don't try to figure it out on your own, the process is murky and can drive you crazy!

You can figure a rough estimate, but give it a lot of leeway.

If he left for boot camp on Nov. 8th he will likely be in processing for the whole week. Most likely he will start his first week on Nov. 16. or sometime during that week. Eight weeks from that would be Jan. 15 for PIR.

But sometimes there is a delay or rapid advancement. Some sailors stay in P week for two weeks, sometimes for only a couple of days. They could also be a push division, graduating a week early, immediately after battlestations.

So, you can guess it will be most likely the 15th (1) or 22nd (2) of January, but technically could be on the 29th (3) or 8th (4).

I'm going through the same thing. I have to request time off from work NOW or I won't get it. Since he's a long-term Depper, he won't leave for boot camp until April 21, so I'm trying to guess when he will graduate to know when to request vacation time. At this time I'm guessing June 18, and hoping my boss will give me some leeway to shift my vacation time one way or the other if I'm wrong.

My son arrived G.L. on the 10th. Received my 10 sec call that night at 11:15. Got my kid in a box tonight. His recruiter got me his address on the 12th, he also gave me a guesstimate PIR date of Jan 15th. He says PIR is alway's on friday? Might want to go to groups and check out the November boot camp family, there's alot of info there, as well as support.
