Hi just wondering if anyone can tell me what a Flag officer letter of commadation (spelling) is?

That's a bravo zulu for doing a good job on something. A letter of commendation is formal recognition that the sailor did outstanding work, and not always related directly to their job. They get the letter and a notation is made in their service record. Gets mentioned on their evals, which is useful for advancement. Oh, and it is something to be proud of!

thanks so much for the info. Got a call from my daughter that she had received this and being the modest one she is didn't say to much (she was proud tho) As a mother we're proud of our kids no matter what its just nice when someone else can see how great they are.

I checked the advancement point charts, the letter is worth one point toward promotion.
