OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We have a very active group around the SF Bay Area. We have 11 Meet and Greet Events schedule for 2010, including a wine country mixer and a dinner at the Mariner's Club in SF during Fleet Week. Even if you are not in our immediate local area, join anyway because we are always ready and able to help any Navy family, particularly one from Cali. Here is the link, just click "+Join..."
SF Bay Area Navy Famiiles.
P.S. We have a meet and greet in Fremont on March 28. Welcome to N4M. BB
Thanks for the invite, :) I'd be a bit far away from the SF Bay area though hahaha. My man is over in China Lake, so that'd be a little bit far :) it sounds nice though, how you guys have so much stuff to do there, do you know if there is anything like that around the area I'll be in?
There are other Cali groups but they're not as active. The two groups in North Cal (I am creator and admin of one and admin of the other) are both fairly active. We just love to get together. We get together even when nothing is scheduled "officially" LOL. The big group California Navy Moms hasn't done anything since probably early 09. Try one of the smaller group near you. Just click on group and input CA in the search box, check out the various groups - if you don't find anything nearby, join us even if you can't participate in the meet and greets - you'll at least will know some fellow Californians.
Um... I'm new to Cali, but is that any where near San Diego?
The SF Bay Area Navy Families group in in San Francisco - 400 miles from SD. There are groups in San Diego. Use the Search function, input San Diego, I remember finding 3-4 group in the Southern Part of CA. I have a big family in SD. You are welcome to join our group in the San Francisco Bay Area Navy Families - one of our members lives in SD, she is coming up next weekend for a meet and greet. We probably have more going on than most geographical groups.
