I can't wait for PIR! Where are you from? I'm from Boston and flying into Chicago on the 4th. My sister got a letter from my nephew last week, but we didn't hear from him this week. Feel bad for all of them during Thanksgiving.

Hello, My son is also Div 025 Ship 12 and I 'am new to this web site, but I have been receiving letters each week from him. He is very excited about graduation and looking forward to seeing his father and I. He has kept me posted to what is going on, I just wish he would call again. I have only heard from him once, which is not enough!!!

my sister hasn't heard from my nephew either. just letters each week. he sounds good and very excited for graduation. i just wish them the best of luck during battlestations. where are you from? we are coming from Boston. We are so excited. we are staying at the ramada.

Good Morning;
We are from the west coast; Hood River, OR to be exact. We are 60 miles east of Portland on the Columbia River. Our tiny little burg is now the wind surfing capital of the United States. The most climbed mountain in the U.S. is in our back yard. Mountain biking, hiking, skiing, boating, camping, hunting, and any other outdoor recreation you wish to partake in is here for the taking.

My husband and I will be arriving on Thursday, 12/4; at O'hare. We are staying in Waukeegan. We will rent a car for trips around the city. As we have been to Chicago once before, we know some of the tourist sites. The only issue is a 21 year old probably doesn't want to see anything his parents want to visit. We'll decide our game plan on the fly once PIR is over.

Someone mentioned a get together the night before the ceremony posting information in another forum. I was unable to find her posting or forum. Perhaps someone could update me as to where to go.

Sue , there is a Meet-n-Greet at Flanagan's 12/4 at 7pm. It is under events. Just let them know how many will be there. Hope you can make it. We also get in Thurs at O'hare 3:00 my friend said traffic is always bad. Guess I will be doing all the driving.

We'll try to get there, but flying is trying, and traffic will be the pits at the time of day we fly in.

My son, Robby is also in that division and I'm jumping out of my skin waiting for PIR. I haven't heard much from
him either. All I got from him scince he left was a 30 sec. phone call, and a letter once a week. He told me
he can only write on Saturday's.

Hi Laurie;
Your son can write whenever he can find time. However, they are only allowed to mail letters once a week. Our son mentioned other divisions got to call home more than our kids. It is all up to the RDC on when they will allow them to make calls. Apparently the RDC's of this division must think our kids are not too homesick!?!

If you don't mind telling us, where is your family located. This is a big country, but now we are all in a small box and have something in common until 12/5. The meaning of 'it's a small world', does drive home to all of us right now.

We are located in St. Pete, Fl. This small box does take the edge off a little. Jumping out of my skin waiting to Robby. Is Jeremy your only child, Robby is and being off of work this week is rough.
