Missed Graduation

Hi Navy Moms, I missed PIR. I got there just as it ended and all the sailors and thier familys were filing out. My family and I got stuck in some of the worst wheather I have ever seen. It took what is normaly a 2 and 1/2 hour trip from Cincinnati to Indianaplois 7 hours and condictions were getting worse so I had to make the decision to stop and more then likely miss PIR or put the rest of the family in even more danger, I knew my sailor would want us safe. We stayed the night and got up and headed for Great lakes watching the clock the whole time knowing with each passing minute we were late so i called Public relations and explaned what had happened and asked them to please let our sailor know that we were ok and were on our way, praying she would get the message. A lilttle while later I got a call and it was my daughter telling me it was ok and to just be careful and that she would be waiting, We got there and found our sailor and knew in my heart that no matter how bad the trip was it was worth it to see the smile on my sailors face.

Glad you are safe and got to spend time with your sailor. She probably ordered the video so about six or seven weeks from now you will be able to see it that way. I know it's not the same as being there, but it is the next best thing. I hope you are able to enjoy today with your sailor.
