OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Does anyone have any information on dog training? My husband is a MA and was selected to train in the K-9 unit down in San Antonio Texas. So we would be leaving his command here where we are stationed and going to attend C school in Texas. We can't seem to find ANY information so far in what C school for MWDs in consisted of. I guess we mostly want to know how long it is?

There is MWD Handler Moms, but it is a small closed group and not very active.

The MWD course is 77 days. See http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=64992.

Personnel completing the MWD Handler "C" School are required to perform duties in designated billets for a minimum of 48 consecutive months immediately following graduation. See NEC MA-2005 in http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/reference/nec/NECOSVolII/Docu... p. 69 (101 of 314).
