First thing is to RELAX, where is he deployed too,(ship or the sandbox)? Every unit has someone for you to contact, is their a group or forum of who your son is with, if so chk teir first. Other Moms will probably know. Does he have a laptop where he is? I thought everyone had an Obudsman?

You need to call the fleet and family of his command. Give them the name of his ship and ask for the ombudsman's email address. You can email her and ask what your sons email address is on the ship. Every sailor has their own personal email account associated with the ship. In addition to that your ombudsman can give you additional info. She can also give you the mailing address of the ship to send letters and boxes. Hope this helps

It would be the particular fleet and family at his command, where is his permanent station?

His station is in San Diego, Ca. Now he is in KUWAIT.

My son is picking his orders this month and wants to go to Japan. I am not sure of how to communicate with him either if he is on a ship but, I do communicate with him through Facebook everyday. He bought a laptop a couple of months ago and, after classes, checks his Facebook email so we talk through that and I bought him a cell phone (and gladly pay for the service) with Global Capacity so we can talk even if he is stationed somewhere overseas. Hope you get to talk to your sailor soon
