My son just went to bootcamp in Chicago a week ago 10/27/08

Did anyone elses son go there too? I just miss him so and hope he is okay. When can he write? Do they ever get to call? I know these are questions that have been answered before, but I just need reassurance I guess. I am very proud of my boy Joey. From the time he talked about joining his father and I thought it was a good idea. I guess when the time finally came for him to go none of us knew how hard it would be. Does it get any easier? I just feel so lost without hearing his voice all the time. We live in Indiana and he lived in Florida, but he came home on holidays and called me all the time.

Hi Jerilynn. My son also left for Boot Camp on 10/27 out of NC. Yes it is hard. I am alot like you..LOST! I carry my cell around w/ me all the time. We have not heard Scott's voice since 11/09. We received a letter on 11/12 from Scott announcing that he would not be home for Xmas. That really hurt. That is the last time we heard from him. I am so use to having both of my boys home for Xmas. This is a lifestyle that is really hard to adjust too. We are now waiting for his packet from the Navy about his Graduation. In the letter he did indicate that he would be graduating on 12/19. Keep in touch. I know you feelings here in NC.

My son is graduating on that date also. Why can't yours come home for Christmas? What school is he going to afterwards? I got 3 letters over the last week. I try to write him every day. Happy Turkey Day to you and yours.
