Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Keep your phone by you, it may come late at night. Stay busy these next 9 weeks, should make it easier.
My son left yesterday - maybe they will have PIR the same time?
My son left on Wednesday for boot camp
Anyone know divisions yet? Mine is 357

Please remember if you haven't received the form letter from your recruit his/her division may change. The information from the recruiter is initial info upon arrival, and may change upon being sent to training.

In order for the recruits to make a call, do they have to have a prepaid calling card? the recruiter stated he should bring money with him, which he did. Can he buy one on base? My other son just completed his 6 year enlistment in the AF, and although they did not have access to their cell phones, they were given  them each Sunday to make their weekly calls.

Hi AJDJ when they get to BC they will get a card with money on it so they can go to the NEX he may be able to buy a calling card but also when you can start sending letter you may be able to stick a calling card. Just make sure that it is activated for him already. Calls are not promised but the say to have phone near just in case. The RDC reserve the phone banks so when there is time or free they may be able to call. It all depends if they SR are all on the same page and doing well in their fitness and can lose call for many reasons the same. You know the saying all it takes is one person to ruin it for the whole div.

My son left on the 19th....division 360 but I haven't received the letter yet : (

My son left the same day and I received his first phone call today. So great to hear his voice:)

My son left on 19TH also. DIV 357 SHIP 07. Received my letter. Can't wait to hear his voice!
Did you receive your letter today? I haven't gotten my mail yet

I receive an email each morning from the post office that shows a picture of what is being delivered that day and I can see the form letter from my son. So excited!
