Navy For Moms

Hey I wanted to check with some of you Mom's that your son or daughter were in Boot Camp and had a birthday. He just went in 2 weeks ago and we haven't talked with him yet and he has a birthday coming up. From the paper work we received it doesn't sound like we can send him any baked goodies or food, so any suggestions on what we could send him? It doesn't sound like he has much room either. He loves to read but I am sure he doesn't have much time to read either. Anyone can help, I would love to hear from you!

Mine had a b-day while at Boot Camp last year . . . I mailed him a picture we had taken at his 6th grade birthday party (the year I made him a Humvee cake - LOL!)
Then when we went to PIR (which was only a week later) I took a homemade cake and birthday candles with me and we celebrated in Great Lakes:)!
I've heard of others who have had an early party and sent pics of the cake and the guests . . .
Hope things go well for you . . . it's one more milestone that we have to get thru when our kids are away from us . . .
GIANT HUGS to you:)!

That sounds fun and I think I will send him some of his old birthday pics as well... I just don't feel like it's a birthday without all the bells and whistles you know!! It's a momma thing I'm sure!

My daughter had her 18th b-day while in BC. She doesn't really like cake, so I ordered a large cookie and had it decorated for her b-day and took a picture of it. I sent it in her card, along with a picture of the gift that she really wanted so that she knew what she would get once she finished BC. She loved the picture of the cookie and called to thank us when she had a chance,

My son left a week ago tomorrow...Eddie, his Birthday is in July..He'll be 21. I have not heard from my son..other then when he arrived to BC. My Eddie is also a Big reader...When he was home, he lived at the Book Store. lol
I was wondering the same thing, I wanted to send him something as well. But like you said..He (they)do/does not have much space for anything. I would also love to have some input.

Thank You,
Eddie's Momma
